"Decent, professional, polite work at exorbitant prices. They use a task-based method, not a flat hourly or daily rate. They quoted $8,000 for one handyman (changing several door handles and door hinges, installing a ceiling light and switch, shaving the top of a door, partial grouting of two showers, relocating a small kitchen wall cabinet to a different wall, minor painting, sealing an outdoor light, etc.) using mostly my materials (hinges, switches, light, door handles). Only after work started was I informed that they scheduled 4 days at my home ($2,000 per day). They deemed it unnecessary to whare this info in advance because they are task-based, even though they somehow estimated it would take 4 full days. Also, of the 4 scheduled days, 2 reschedules occurred due to their personnel issues. On the last day, I intended to go through the checklist of work, discuss possible future work, and to ask for assistance in properly measuring 2 doors for replacement. However, the handyman arrived late, and noted that he was in a rush to depart for a medical appointment."

"I hired him through Angi to seal and waterproof my wooden deck, which functions as the roof of my chicken coop. I paid $2,700 with the understanding that the purpose of the work was to stop water from leaking through. After the job was completed, the deck still leaks. Water is coming through the deck boards, which shows that the deck was not properly waterproofed for a structure that serves as a roof. Applying a basic wood sealer is not the same as installing a true waterproofing system. When I expressed concerns, it became clear that the correct materials and methods for this type of waterproofing were not used. I later had to research proper deck waterproofing systems myself and learned that a specialized membrane or elastomeric deck coating should have been recommended from the start. In addition to the continued leaking, the finish left behind is unattractive, and I will now need to spend more money to have the deck redone correctly. I cannot recommend. Update as of 1/30/2026 After I posted my original review about the deck still leaking, the contractor issued a partial refund of $1,000. I did not move forward with additional work because no clear waterproofing system or written plan was ever provided. The deck functions as a roof, and the original work used a wood sealer rather than a true waterproof membrane system. The deck continues to leak and now requires proper repair. After the initial failure, the contractor proposed returning to apply ?different materials,? but still could not specify a defined waterproofing system designed for a deck acting as a roof. I was not comfortable allowing further trial attempts on a structure that protects an enclosed space. In addition, the work that was performed included added fasteners and metal pieces that will now need to be removed or corrected as part of the proper repair. This has increased the scope and cost of fixing the deck beyond what would have been required if the correct system had been installed."
