"Brick Industries is a well run organization that was a pleasure to work with. Within 8 hours of first contacting them, we had an on-site meeting to go over the scope of work, a contract was signed and a starting date was identified. They arrived when they said they would and did a great job. At the end of each work day, they patrolled the area and made sure that the area was clear of any unsafe conditions during the demolition of four tractor trailers. Thank you Erick and Chris."

"Great experience. This company was honest, prompt, and efficient. They found and remediated a significant asbestos problem at my daughters first house in North New Jersey. They did not try to take advantage of her, as is all too common in this industry. The fee was very fair and took care of the job very quickly. I found out about this company from someone who uses AAA for large commercial projects, and he has the same experience. We recommend AAA Lead Professionals for any residential or commercial projects involving lead or asbestos! Thank you Joe!!"

"Last year while cleaning the basement I noticed that some places in the floor tile were breaking up and crumbling into powder. Since our house was built around the time tiles containing asbestos were being phased out, I sent a sample to a lab to be tested. I found that there was asbestos in the tile but not in the glue that glued it to the floor. After an on-line review of asbestos abatement companies I selected Gr Tech LLC. I talked to Greg on the phone, gave him the floor dimensions and he quoted me an estimate of $2225. and sent me a written estimate and contract to sign. The estimate was for removal of VAT floor tiles 9X9 (460 SF) by non-friable method approved by NJ DOH. Because the basement area was full of junk, I wanted to wait to have the work done until it was cleaned. On March 19 I faxed him a letter and signed contract saying I wanted the work to be done as soon after May 1 as possible. I waited for him to specify the date he could do the work. When I called him 2 weeks before May 1 to see when the work would be done he said he had forgotten about the date and had scheduled other work right after May 1. We finally settled on June 3. On June 3 Greg arrived at 8:30 for the 9:00 appointment with an additional 3 workers. They entered the basement room through the garage so they did not contaminate any upstairs areas of the house. They taped plastic over the two doors into the basement room, the heat ducts into the room, and a place in the ceiling where the ceiling tiles had come down leaving a opening into the next room. They set up a fan which exhausted air to the outside through the basement window. The air went into a bag which would collect any particles going out of the basement. They took off the baseboards so they could take out the tiles right up to the wall. They then took up the tiles. bagged them, and later showed me a picture of the tiles. They took the bagged tiles with them when they left. They vacuumed everything. Finally they put a light gray epoxy over the floor to seal in any residual tile particles. The epoxy took a few hours to dry to the touch and overnight to dry to walk on. They said I should not go into the room until after the results from the air sample they took and sent to a lab for testing, showed the air quality was OK. Then I could take the plastic down and go in. They finished by 11:15. They cleaned up carefully taking any left over garbage with them. As he left, Greg gave me a copy of the paperwork he had sent to the NJ Department of Health 10 days before the work was to start which stated what was to be done. Later, he emailed me copies of the lab report showing that the air sample showed less than 1% asbestos in the air at the end of the process as required. They did not put the baseboards back because the epoxy was wet when they left. The attached picture shows the floor after their work. Since they did not grind off the glue that had attached the tiles to the floor (non friable removal) the floor looks checkered and is not smooth and flat but looks very nice (see picture). Some people might want to cover the floor with new tile or a rug if the room were going to be used for something other than storage."

"Great! Chris Burrows has been a huge asset to have found during this purchase and moving process that we have currently been going through. Chris came by to do an inspection on a condo that we eventually purchased and was extremely thorough with everything and explained everything very clearly. After the purchase, and during the sale, Chris's resources were incredibly helpful. Everyone that I called, when I referenced who sent me to them, spoke very highly of Chris. We used his HVAC and Mold Remediation references and they have been incredible, I know for a fact the mold remediation person saved us money over who we originally had. *Please note I forget the exact cost. It was between $400 and $500."

FAQs for asbestos abatement projects in Randolph, NJ

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring mineral fibers once commonly used in building materials because of their resistance to heat, electricity, and corrosion. However, in 1975, research confirmed that these fibers cause mesothelioma and other cancers, leading to strict usage laws. If your home contains asbestos, removing it can prevent long-term health effects. You'll often find asbestos in the flooring, ceilings, pipes, and roofing of homes built before the 1990s. Common asbestos-containing materials include vermiculite insulation, vinyl flooring, millboard, and corrugated roofing. If you suspect you have asbestos or any of these materials in your home, it's important to hire a reputable abatement company to perform testing.

Currently, there is no federal licensing mandate for asbestos removal contractors. However, certain cities and states require certification and specialized training. For example, in some areas, contractors handling asbestos must receive an Asbestos Handler Certification. Be sure to check your local laws to ensure any contractor you hire meets the necessary requirements.

Homes constructed before the 1990s can conceal asbestos within building materials, and testing provides a definitive answer. You should have your home tested by a certified asbestos inspection service. This professional evaluation identifies hazardous materials and determines whether removal or encapsulation is necessary. Testing safeguards your family’s health and supports smart budgeting for remediation.

Federal law does not require you to disclose the presence of asbestos when selling your home. However, certain states and local jurisdictions impose disclosure regulations that you must follow. Testing and professional remediation confirm that hazardous materials are properly managed. This proactive approach not only meets legal requirements but also protects your property’s value and buyer health.

Asbestos removal affects a home’s resale value because hazardous materials can deter potential buyers. Having toxic substances present lowers buyer confidence and may reduce the property’s value by 1% to 15% if not addressed. Professional remediation ensures safety standards are met and preserves marketability, protecting your long-term investment.

Grants exist at both federal and state levels to support asbestos testing and removal projects. Local housing programs may also offer financial assistance when asbestos is discovered during home repairs. Meeting certification and testing standards is required to secure these funds, which help to manage overall project costs while ensuring safe remediation.
