My project was far from the easiest because I did not want to replace my cabinets. Several people on the Monk's team said that I would have been crazy to do so. "Be aware and get Certificate of insurance before hiring L&B construction t/a Luisa A. Gabriele based in Metuchen, NJ. We hired L&B Construction, owned by Berto Rivera family, to replace a cracked tub, tiled walls and floor as well as painting the house. They were referred to us by Coastal Supply, a construction store based in Staten Island, NY. The owner of the L&B Construction assured us that they are fully insured and bonded but we never asked for a copy of COI, certificate of insurance. At the date of completion, we discovered a freshly installed tub appeared damaged in the middle and the crack was masked over with paint. We contacted Berto Rivera, the owner, and requested their business insurance information but he refused to provide one. He offered to fix the problem but this time we refused. Allowing them to continue working without business insurance in place might put us in an even more risky situation. In fact, the whole renovation project needs to be started all over again but not with the same company. While working on the project, the company clearly demonstrated dishonesty and a lack of professionalism that makes it impossible to proceed with it. Paid funds are need to be recovered to hire another company to start the project again. BE AWARE"

The work was done in a reasonable amount of time,as we were told it would, cost was fair/within our budget and it was easy to communicate/get in touch with the company whenever we had questions or concerns. We were walked through the process as it moved along. We are happy with our new bathroom, kitchen backsplash and new flooring on our first floor.Overall,a good experience."
