"Contractor Recommendation: Norfolk County Heating & Cooling Our 1895 refurbished Victorian's 3rd-floor mini split unit needed repair. Leaking lines were replaced. A chemical reaction between the copper line and wrapped insulation caused pinhole leaks in the line set. Manufacturers recalled that the warranty had expired and the unit was cooling poorly. Four contractors were contacted for estimates. Owner Patrick and project supervisor Renato excelled. They quickly listened and explained the problem, process challenges, and possible solutions. The price given was accurate and a fraction of the others I received. That worried me until it became clear the other contractors had quoted outrageous pricesâ either their company was understaffed and didn't want the small project or thought the customer was ignorant. The other contractors pressured us to upgrade from line replacement to system overhaul. One refused to provide an itemized breakdown of the FIVE times Norfolk H&C estimate but continued contacting me to finalize the sale without changing the price or explanation. Renato visited the day before the appointment to take additional photographs and check his materials. On replacement/installation day, Renato and his assistant were punctual and polite, knocked and asked permission before entering the property, and were great to our small dog. They avoided disturbing a newly planted lawn and cleaned the house and area. Renato showed me the finished project, how he installed it, what he replaced, and its system testing. I highly recommend Norfolk County Heating & Cooling for any HVAC projectâ one of our most remarkable home contracting experiences."

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our company Majic Air, Inc. We are a full service heating ventilation and air conditioning company servicing the south shore and Cape Cod areas of Massachusetts. We specialize in the service and installation of all types of equipment such as warm air furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, ductless systems and rooftop systems for commercial and residential applications. We also offer commercial and residential preventive maintenance programs for your equipment for long and efficient operation.
"Terrible ongoing experience. 3 yrs. later and our combi unit still doesn't work. They claim it's past warranty but we informed them of the issue a week after it was installed. They tried everything they knew(which wasn't anything ) They replaced the unit, it still didn't work. They blamed our shower water mixer, so we had our bathroom remodeled, trusting they knew what they were talking about, again ,lack of knowledge about the product they sell and install. They offered to install a water tank because they knew it was a problem, when we rejected that solution as just plain dumb, (I think you get a combi unit to eliminate a water tank) So bottom line is they installed this unit that has never worked. These idiots should know whether or not your plumbing is appropriate for the unit to work BEFORE they install it and bill you 14,000. Now I have to hire a plumber to figure out and fix what they can't or won't and then hire a lawyer to sue them for the cost, which, if they had been knowledgeable about their product in the first place, any added cost should have been included in the quote they gave us. To top it all off I have a blind intellectually challenged daughter that struggles physically and emotionally with taking a shower. We're getting older and the purpose of this whole thing was to make life easier for her and her caretaker when we're gone. They've ruined the value of our home. DO NOT HIRE THESE INCONSIDERATE JACKASSES!!!"

The technician, Casey, showed up at 9:25, which was great since we had things we wanted to do. He was not only courteous and professional, but an easy going person who was easy to talk to. He immediately started determining what our problem was and was able to quickly troubleshoot the issue. He determined that it was lint from a poorly placed dryer vent that clogged up the cooling vanes that caused the AC unit to overheat and not work properly. Once he cleaned it, he was able to test the system and found that the freon levels were fine and the system was running properly. He even showed me the gages and explained what the readings meant. He didnâ t try to add anything more to the bill, such as unnecessary freon or additional labor time. He was honest and only charged exactly was was required. Casey is an honorable man, which is a rarity these days. I highly recommend him and his company and will only be calling them for my future AC needs."
