"My husband and I moved into a modern condo building and were baffled as to how to furnish our large open floor plan with huge windows and high ceilings. My neighbor recommended her interior designer, Sue Hunter. I loved how my neighbor's home was decorated. Sue is amazing. Sue came to our home and in ONE hour, put together an entire plan for us that included a complete palette of colors, size ranges for each piece of furniture she recommended, rug sizes and an accent wall paint color. Then we went shopping! She chose pieces I wouldn’t have thought to pick and when they arrived—they were perfect. Sue returned and arranged by etagere, wall hangings and accessories. I highly recommend her. Our home looks fabulous! I did not post photos because of Covid, a few of our pieces have not arrived."

"My partner and I recently had the pleasure of working with Jeff Norberg of Huerkamp Home Group (HHG) as our realtor. Jeff and HHG helped us sell her condo in Minneapolis and helped us buy a home in Hopkins. We chose Jeff as our realtor after meeting with a handful of other options as we sought listing proposals for the condo. Jeff proved to be a reliable, responsive, and punctual professional who went above and beyond to meet our needs. One of the things that stood out to us about Jeff was his low-pressure approach, letting us drive the process. Amid a hot housing market, Jeff prepared us for the realities of selling a condo versus a house. For example, he always communicated news about showings, feedback, and offers in the context of his experience, without sugar-coating, keeping our hopes in check. HHG helped with listing, staging, photographs, and the standard transaction documents. Although we were several months away from buying, Jeff took us to showings throughout the western Twin Cities Metro Area to better understand our preferences. He was generous with his time and accommodated our needs, e.g. letting us preview the condo listing for our approval, adjusting the default terms of the listing agreement, and scheduling showings to our convenience. Once the condo sold, we moved into buy mode. Jeff kept us grounded through the roller coaster of busy showings, offer preparation, and waiting for responses. He respected our budget and was clear about the pros and cons of our offer strategies. Jeff kept us moving forward after several of our offers were declined. Fortunately, the sellers of one of those properties came back to us after another buyer backed out. Late that night, Jeff went out of his way to call us and coordinate the acceptance of our original offer. HHG supported the whole transaction, from listing alerts and legal docs to inspection and closing. We highly recommend Jeff Norberg and HHG. We would definitely work with them again."

"We purchased a new home which was in excellent condition but seriously dated. We wanted to redecorate and do some structural changes before we moved in. We pulled up the old carpet and replaced it with lovely maple hardwood floors. We had the popcorn ceilings removed, we repainted the walls, had new baseboards installed to achieve consistency, selected light fixtures, purchase new furniture, and made a number of other minor but important changes to hinges, doorknobs, and that sort of thing in order to achieve a coordinated and finished look. Vicki offered us a variety of services at a reasonable price: she offered design advice on colors and finishes, she went to the store with us to look at furniture and rugs, she did research to help us find special fixtures, and finally, we asked her to take on the project management so all this could be coordinated with minimum hassle for us. She does an outstanding job of project management. She also has excellent connections to skilled specialists who are really a joy to work with. She put us in contact with her flooring guy, two different carpenters , a painter, a window treatment specialist, and others. These craftspeople were all professional, responsive, and did excellent work. Everybody who comes into our home comments on how lovely it looks. We tried working with several other designers before we met Vicki. It is not easy to find someone who is capable and pleasant to work with. When we met Vicki, we discovered she has good ideas but is flexible. She is responsive and affordable. And she's fun to work with! We initially started with Vicki on the basic work. But we enjoyed working with her so much that we expanded the project and continued to work with her on a number of things. We recommend Vicki enthusiastically for design, research, and project management."

"We had a two-stage move. The buyer wanted our old house 6 weeks before our new one would be ready. Mohawk moved us out of the old house and put our things in their air-conditioned storage facility. When the new house was ready, our things were moved from storage to the new house. Everything went as planned. I couldn't be more pleased. <br />"

"It went very well. Al is very knowledgable with the housing market in the South Minneapolis area and Jill was very patient in showing me over 30 houses before I finally selected one. While looking for homes, Al was able to use his extensive building/remodleing background to help me assess possibilities with the various homes we viewed."

"He didn't give us any written bid. He quoted $2000 (included installing an outside outlet which we later had done for about $300) and sent us a choice of $25 each, plastic, cheap looking lights from Home Depot. We asked him how the price could be so high with such cheap fixtures (total cost of fixtures would be about $300). Meanwhile we looked on you tube for how to install LED path lighting and it was simple to do. So we found some sturdy lights we like ($75 each) 2 spot lights ($125 each) a transformer (about $50) and easily did the job ourselves with much higher quality components."

"Janet bent over backward to make our preparations as cost effective and up to date as possible. We found ourselves calling her at all hours to get her opinion on a particular item - and she never seemed in the least irritated. We have told her many times that we don't know what we would have done without her. We are so out of touch with what the current young buyer might be looking for in a home and its decorations - including the yard. Janet gave us all of the ideas we needed and even went to Menards/Lowes/Home Depot and looked for things we might use and made sure we were getting what we needed at a reasonable price. She was/is fantastic! <em>I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to do a makeover in their home. Ours sold in 3 weeks!!!!!</em> <br />"

FAQs for home staging projects in Red Wing, MN

Most homebuyers start their search online, browsing photos of properties. A well-staged home allows potential buyers to visualize themselves living there. Staging can make your home stand out in a competitive market by creating a great first impression both online and during in-person showings. House staging presents potential buyers with a modern look and a neutral design that allows them to imagine their own belongings in the home.

Staging costs are usually covered by either the seller or the real estate agent. Some real estate agencies include professional home staging as part of their services to enhance a property's market appeal and achieve a higher selling price. Other times, the homeowner is motivated to hire a professional stager to maximize their home’s sale price.
