"Sorry for the long post, but wanted to make sure I did a thorough review. I got caught in the derecho that slammed Iowa in August 2020. A tree crashed down onto my mobile home and did extensive damage to the roof, gutter, siding and skirting. As an old lady who lives alone, I had no one to call and didn't know where to start to get my home livable again. I count myself extremely lucky to have gotten Tony of Midwest Remodel and Handyman to answer my request for help. He did an outstanding job! Because it was going to be a couple of weeks before he could begin and we had several days of rain forecasted, he came out right away and put a tarp on the roof. I had escaped water damage inside from the derecho, but was glad he took the time to put on the tarp so I didn't have to worry about new seepage. When he was able to focus on my home, he repaired the substructure of the roof and replaced the damaged shingles. He cut off the damaged part of the gutter and spliced in a new section so you can't even see the seam. He replaced the damaged siding and skirting, and again, took the time to make sure everything matched and looked nice. He did such an excellent job repairing the derecho damage, I hired him to fix a multitude of other things. I had a bathtub that couldn't be used because the faucet leaked. It didn't have typical gaskets, but he drove around to a couple of places and found the correct piece needed to fix it. He fixed a sliding closet door that wouldn't stay on the tracks, put down carpet transition strips so the carpet wouldn't pull up between the hallway and bedrooms, and even helped hang a couple of pictures that were too heavy for me to do alone. He adjusted the pneumatic cylinder on the storm door so it wouldn't knock me on my keister again when it slammed shut. He also replaced part of the front deck where the boards were rotting a bit. As a side note, his quote on the derecho repairs matched closely with the insurance adjustor, so I knew I wasn't getting ripped off. He's a super nice guy who was able to handle whatever I asked him to do, and I would definitely hire him again."

"Dan identified the problem readily (nonfunctional fan and ice collected in the system). He had to order parts and come back. In the meantime we defrosted the refrigerator. Dan came back as arranged, replaced the fan and cost was very close to estimated. Frig has been working perfectly since. Would hire again for other appliance repair."

"Greg (The Fixit Man) answered an ad I had on Craig's List. I needed a walk-thru door replaced on my garage and the roll-up garage door scraped and repainted. Greg showed up at the exact time he promised. After looking at the doors he explained how he would do the repairs and gave us different options. Greg returned with the supplies and began working. Because of the age of the house and old repairs done to the door, Greg ran into some problems.  It took him a bit longer  to finish than he said, but he solved the problems. The finished job is very professional and detailed. I plan on using Greg for other handyman jobs in the very near future."

"Had water damage from leaky roof.  Replaced the roof, and then had Tim Mawdsley come in and complete the interior repairs.  Tim's a busy guy, but he came in and did what needed to be done.  Removed and/or repaired drywall and plaster where there was moisture damage, and sanded and skim-coated.  It required several visits as he had to remove the damaged areas, replace wallboard/backer board, plaster, then sand and skim coat several times.  Finished up with a primer coat on repaired areas.  His work was thorough, efficient and high-quality.  He's a friendly guy and a pleasure to do business with.  If I have similar situations, or just decide to move some walls around, I'd be happy to hire him again. <br />"

"It went very well. Joe arrived in when expected, he gave me an estimate on repairing my old toilet or replacing it. I chose to replace. We set up a time for the following day. He was on time and had my new toilet in in no time. He was very professional. Cleaned up after himself. Will request him for any work I need done in the future."
