"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"Russ was terrific and super honest . Realized our problem with our dryer was not the dryer itself and diagnosed the actual problem which we consequently had fixed. Will call Sixth Sense again whenever we need a repair of any appliances."

"Excellent, he was there quickly the only hold up was me finding time to be there. They got the job done quickly and efficiently. It has been over 30 days and it is still working well. In contrast to Sears which is where I bought an oven. It took 3 weeks to come out and find the issue then another 3 weeks to get the part. Their reason is because I had no extended warranty. Well of course I didn't they are a waste of money. Based on the quote of 400 a year to cover all appliances I have spent less than half of that on repairs."

"I had a question about microwave repair. He answered all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately new parts are no longer available for model in question. He gave me part # if I wanted to call around for a used part somewhere. Got lots of good info."

"There are always surprises when making home repairs. My window had to be adapted to accommodate the AC size and we had to find the circuit for the proper outlet Dick had the supplies he needed to get the job done and made additional adjustments so that I can take out the unit in the winter. The cut-to-order shades were a little narrow and he knew how to adjust the brackets so that they would work. One would think that replacing light bulbs would be at anyone's level of expertise but Dick reminded me that it is best to replace all of the light bulbs so that I don't have to do it again when an older bulb burns out. I would not have thought of that. The remote thermometer needed to be integrated with the inside one and Dick knew just how to do that. The table lamp is old and I didn't know if it could be repaired. I like its construction and was disappointed when it fell apart. Dick knew just how to fix it. I have called on Dick's Fix It for 4 years--both on my current house and the previous one. His problem-solving skills and expertise always amaze me and I know that I can rely on him to resolve anything that he encounters. Dick is courteous, professional, and a partner in servicing one's home. If you want a handyman who will go beyond the expected and do an excellent job for you call Dick's Fix It."

"All my service calls went very well. I have used Burkhardt multiple times over the last three years. (I even bought a furnace from them last year and I was extremely happy with the price and the quick turnaround service. I have always found them to be trustworthy, fair, respectful, efficient... and so many more positive adjectives that I could come up with. Their work is always done well and at a fair price. When there have been discrepancies, they always resolved them quickly. There are very few contractors that I trust as much as I trust Burkhardt. If you are looking for an outstanding HVAC company, you will not be disappointed by using them!"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Richfield, WI

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
