"I had 2 20 year old heatpumps in various states of disrepair. I scanned Angie's List for the top 5 recommended HVAC vendors and contacted each. Generally each was responsive but Dan and Mike from A&H were the most forthcoming and honest about what made the most sensible investment for my situation. I had actually planned to go for a pair of ultra-efficient units but after talking with these guys and learning about the 40% raise in efficiency from my old equipment to our new equipment and how A&H met our needs for what our budget was on unit replacement - I got out the spreadsheet and found that it would actually save me several thousand dollars over the life of the investment to go with a simpler unit. I hadn't considered this trade-off and the fact that the A&H guys were willing to share some honest feedback created a good basis of trust for partnering with them on my install. The price for 2 heatpumps is obviously pretty high but they were very competitive with the other top 4 vendors to which i reached out. Especially given the fact that several stuck with the ultra-high efficiency sale and never offered another perspective."

"It went very well. After a bit of a wait, I received a very comprehensive report of 88 specific items as well as bacteria, fungi and particles. Each Item detected over the EPA drinking water limits had an explanation sheet. Also provided was a contact person at the company to address any questions you had about the report findings. I thought the service was well worth the $300 just for the peace of mind. I intend to use the company on an annual basis going forward."

"Robert provided me my 4th estimate. He wasn't either the most or the least expensive. There was something wrong with every other contractor - too high, making a comment like "I've never really done windows but how hard can it be?", to a bait and switch (I called one of the top 3 rated bathroom remodelers who sent me his son with his own separate company because he was retiring - I might have been okay with it had he told me about it in advance). I knew immediately when I met Robert that if he gave me a competitive bid, he would be the one to do the work. <br /> I can't say enough positive things about Robert and his crew. They were very professional, kept me informed of progress on a daily basis, and they cleaned up after themselves daily. They were very attentive to making sure I was happy with everything, and if there was something I wanted done differently, there was no problem with arranging it. Although I am not an expert, there work appears to very high quality. Robert also found some major issues with plumbing in the kitchen that I was not aware of - had he not brought it to my attention, there could have been major problems down the road. "<p>He has done a custom-built closet, which turned out beautiful. He also has completely gutted and remodeled a downstairs bathroom. It turned out beautiful. We bought our hot tub from him when he was in the hot tub business. We have had the hot tub for 16 years. He does very good work and is pretty knowledgeable, but one has to have patience with him because he gets off in different directions sometimes. I put up with it because I like what he does. Some people might be a little bugged because sometimes he says he will be back tomorrow, but then doesn't show up until several days later.  The only issue I have with him is his timeliness. He is working on my deck right now. He is repairing where I have a 100-year-old tree that grew and put a hole in the deck and buckled it up. We are just getting started on that project. For us he has done carpentry, plumbing -- he installed all the toilets and did all the plumbing work. He is also a licensed electrician so he has done electrical work and you name it -- deck work. He is kind of a jack of all trades. Right now I know he is working on someone's basement, supporting steel beams and all that stuff. That is why he has not finished my deck work because he is busy with the basement. He also put in our garbage disposal for us. That guy has done so much I can't remember everything. I have been dealing with him, probably, 20 years plus. On the fence his cost was about $3,000 and the materials were the other $3,000. He will save people money because he has the customer buy the materials after he tells them what he needs. He takes no markup in the materials. He even went with me when I  bought the materials for the fence. He only charges you for his labor. I have several other project for him to do including putting on a garage roof. </p>"
