"Mike and his crew are the best contractors I've ever had the pleasure of working with in the Morgantown, WV area. My chimney was leaking and I had contacted several contractors in the area and even scheduled a few only to experience no calls and no shows for appointments and ultimately being left with nothing but ignored calls. Mike was very professional, kind, and informative throughout the entire process. I left him a message and within an hour he had called me back to ask what he and his crew could do for me. In October of 2022 he repointed my chimney and replaced the cap to fix an ongoing leak issue I had been experiencing. Mike was thorough in ensuring the leak was fixed and even asked me to hold off leaving this review until I had experienced several good rain storms to ensure the work was done. Mike and his crew should be the standard for contractor integrity. They are my first call for all my home improvement needs and I already have him lined up for a ceiling replacement."

"I hired Sinay Roofing to remove aluminum siding and install vinyl siding on my home. The contract also said that he would install foam board and house wrap if it was needed. It turned out that there was no existing house wrap on my home, and under the aluminum siding was tongue and groove sheathing that looked almost like wood siding. Since there needed to be a flat surface to nail the vinyl siding to, he installed the foam board as we had discussed. Sinay then called me at work to tell me that installing the foam board had pushed the siding out from the windows too far and now there was a gap between the window and the vinyl siding. He then demanded more money if I wanted him to "fix" this problem. After speaking with other contractors, they informed me that Sinay should have known this was going to happen and should have planned for it accordingly. I am told that he should have framed around the windows before the siding even went on the house. This would have allowed the jchannel to but up against the framing. Since we were calling for rain in a couple of days, I decided to pay Sinay to "fix" the window situation before rain had a chance to get in the gaps and cause damage to my home. On the majority of the windows, Sinay "fixed" the situation by putting a half inch peice of pvc board in the gap and caulking it. There was one section of my home that did not have siding on it yet, so he fixed those windows the correct way by framing around the window first. The caulking job does not look professional at all, but by that point, I didn't want his crew touching my house any longer, so I went ahead and paid him for the work. The siding job does look okay, but I am very upset that my windows were not handled correctly. My opinion is that Sinay's team lacked experience and/or competency and that is why my window situation arose. Sinay refused to fix the windows for free and only kept repeating that "he could not lose money on this job". He also mentioned multiple times that he was barely making any money from this job. That just happens to be the same thing he told me when he put a new roof on my house the year before. I would not recommend Sinay Roofing and General Contracting for vinyl siding jobs."

"The team at rainstoppers helped us with a roof replacement project. From initial communication to the end of the job, everything ran better than we expected. The team was courteous and answered questions with a focus on ensuring we were happy, not a hard sales pitch. 10/10 would recommend"

FAQs for asphalt shingle roofing repair projects in Rivesville, WV

Asphalt shingles last 15 to 30 years, although premium products can reach the 50-year mark. The actual lifespan hinges on climate, material quality, proper installation, ventilation, and consistent maintenance. Scheduling annual inspections, replacing damaged shingles promptly, and keeping gutters clear all extend service life and help your roof protect the rest of the house.

Repairing your asphalt shingles preserves the integrity of your roof by addressing minor, localized damage. In cases where damage is confined, applying roofing sealant beneath and over the affected area restores performance and prevents further issues. Maintaining these repairs upholds durability and forestalls deterioration. When damage is extensive or persistent, full roof replacement becomes necessary. A professional inspection confirms the ideal course of action.

Replacing individual shingles is a valid solution when only isolated sections of the roof are damaged. Asphalt shingles, as well as wooden shakes, slate, or clay roofing tiles, are engineered for individual replacement, which can be achieved by applying roofing sealant beneath and over the damaged section to restore functionality. When damage extends over a larger area or many shingles are compromised, complete roof replacement becomes necessary. A professional roofer will assess the situation and confirm the optimal repair method.
