"Micah removed all my old kitchen cabinet doors and drawers.  He then sanded the box of the cabinets, and primed and painted the box. <br /> I had picked out the wood doors that I wanted and he finished them in a truly professional finish.  He installed new drawers.  The doors and drawers have the soft close slides and hinges.  He even put crown molding on the cabinets to match the crown molding in the rest of my kitchen.  He answered all my questions and helped me to pick out the pulls and knobs.  I am so pleased with the fresh new look of my cabinets.  They do not look refaced.  They look new. <br />"

"Mark and his team worked quickly and efficiently. He gave me a reasonable quote up front and stuck to it. The whole project took less than 2 weeks to complete. He first painted the entire interior within 2-3 days, which included all walls, ceilings, doors, and trim, with the bathrooms, kitchen, and trim painted a semigloss. The following week he returned to do the exterior, applying 2 coats of one color to the body of the house and a second color to the trim. He took down all my exterior light fixtures to do the job and was happy to replace them with new light fixtures I purchased myself when the job was over. While other painters I received quotes from wanted to nickel and dime me for every door and cabinet, Mark was true to his original quote. There were several closet doors I initially did not want to paint, and so were not expressly included in Mark's quote. However, when I changed my mind later, Mark was happy to paint them at no extra cost. In fact, a few new doors I had purchased were not delivered before Mark had finished the entire project and Mark offered to come back and paint them when they arrived, despite the fact that I had already paid him in full. When the doors finally did arrive weeks later, Mark was true to his word and returned within a few days to paint them, he even went around the house and touched up spots that the movers had damaged."

"    Braswell Construction  worked on our newly purchased house form October 2015 to January 2016. I am just getting around to writing review due to my work schedule. <br>    We contacted Braswell a few weeks after we closed on our house in mid-September. Geoff was very friendly and detailed oriented. Throughout the process, he gave us some good ideas as far as brand of appliance to use, quality of different fixtures etc.  We really like our toilets, garbage disposal, and kitchen faucet that he recommended....they are not run of the mill....much better quality than average without the overly expensive price. We had ordered our major appliances from Appliances Connection in the Northeast to be delivered by truck..(GREAT prices and service).  <br>     All of the sub contractors were polite. We did have some fairly significant problems with the installation of our floors done by Signature Flooring. Geoff stayed on them the whole process down to the very end of job to get it right as far as the floors adhesive.  Signature did come back about 7 times to put more glue down to fix problems...it is not at 100 percent yet, but it is much better than it used to be...Geoff would not release the money to them until we were satisfied( and to Signature's testament they kept at it to keep us satisfied...a big plus ). <br>We originally had a price quote form Geoff of about 35000, but due to us adding several things and dropping some others, it came to 38,000. We were very satisfied with the way Braswell handled many things on a plethora of levels. The barbed wire removal was particularly rough on the sub contractors.   <br>    Geoff worked with us in getting all the door locks re-keyed the day before final payment. There were many small tweaks that Braswell consistently came through on in a timely and accommodating manner....i.e...changing the way a door opened, type of hardware on cabinets, light placement, painting...all the while being mindful of our pets when we could not be there. <br>Our kitchen is gorgeous......very open concept...very updated with floating shelves, solid wood cabinetry, subway tile etc. The lighting arrangement that the electrical sub contractors suggested works awesome. We did have fairly good ideas of how we wanted the kitchen to look and they enhanced our ideas even more. Geoff and the team were very good in accommodating our changing wishes as project progressed and really helped us make some tough decisions....as well as adhering to getting major steps of the project done around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. <br>We will use Braswell in the future without a doubt. In the next year, we plan on replacing the roof on our cabin in North Georgia as well as gutting our master bath...among other projects.. Braswell will be at the top of the list for possible general contractors. <br> <br>"

"Mike was very polite and responsive. He scheduled an estimate for me the next day and was early for his appointment. Mike was very professional as he discussed the job with me and emailed me a thorough estimate the next morning. The estimate was about what I expected, cost wise. We had a leak in the line running to our ice maker which has caused wide spread damage to the hard woods, sub floors, cabinets, carpet and drywall. I am still in the process of gathering bids for the job, but would definitely recommend Affordable Contracting based on this experience. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Rockmart, GA

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
