"Dealing with North Star was a fabulous experience. We felt fully satisfied starting from the Owner Jason coming to quote the work to finishing the work, including a fence that had to be redone after another contractor. He not only quoted the total, but also provided the amount for each project separately (drainage using 4-6" rocks for a hillside patio, installing vinyl fence, installing wooden railing by steps down the hill) . He even picked up some needed material from the store. The Jason worked along side his coworkers who were all very professional as well. North Star's customer service was very warm and friendly. There is plenty of snow and ice at this time outside, so, I will provide some pics when the ground clears. In sum, I will gladly hire North Star for other projects and recommend to others looking for a reliable landscape and home services provider."

"I had a sad looking red/brown brick fireplace which i had resurfaced with stone. I chose the terra cotta color. This is a stone veneer of slate/quartzite. The results were beautiful. Sean and his partner Jennifer came promptly at the stated time. Sean is master at his job and a real perfectionist. The finished job was more than I could have asked for. The price was excellent too. I took advantage of one of their advertised Angies list specials and I'm glad I did. Both Sean and Jennifer were friendly and professional. They cleaned up all around the fireplace when they were through."

"After contacting 6 brick and stone repair contractors, only three returned my calls as interested. One came to my home, provided an estimate, then would no longer return my calls. A second reviewed the job and provided an estimate. Intramasonry also reviewed the job and provided an estimate. They included two additional requests ant no additional cost, responded to my phone calls and completed the job ahead of schedule. The were very accommodating to my requests, attentive to detail and made suggestions to improve the results. They kept me abreast of their progress, explained what they were doing and why. "We had a French Drain System installed to resolve a problem with standing water in our backyard. Our brick walkway and front step were relaid with edge restraint and polymeric jointing sand. They also cleaned all our beds, trimmed the shrubs, and applied mulch. We are VERY pleased with the work completed!!! The crew worked hard, did a wonderful job, and cleaned up beautifully! "Lee is the best, hands down.  I own a rental property in Ferndale and the city requires an inspection of the fireplace every two years.  Lee is the only person I have ever used and he is always on time, super friendly, always does  a great job cleaning the fireplace and then cleaning up.  I've also used him for the random one off repair like patching broken concrete steps and also patching around the foundation of my brick house.

"After looking at our two repair jobs, Nosh explained in detail the work he proposed to do and the cost for each.  He discussed the options with us for fixing the front porch brick, and we agreed with his recommendation to replace all of the bricks rather than a piecemeal brick by brick replacement (about half of the bricks were bad).  Nosh impressed us with his knowledge and professional manner, so we decided to have him do the work. 
Nosh started in immediately, going to three different brick sources until he found bricks that would be a close match to the bricks on our house.  He started work on the porch promptly the next morning, arriving early in the morning and working until late afternoon when it started to rain.  He returned early again the next day and finished the chimney late that afternoon.  When working on the chimney, he had planned to replace 5 or 6 courses of bricks on the chimney, but found he had to go down about 9 courses instead (he had to buy additional bricks to complete the job).  He did not charge for the extra bricks or additional labor.  He also discovered a cracked section of flue, which he replaced for only the wholesale cost of the flue liner.  He also replaced one brick on the front of the house that had cracked, and again didn't charge for the extra work.
We are very pleased with the final result.  Nosh did excellent work, and clearly takes great pride in doing a quality job.  He goes the extra mile to make sure everything is right, and when he finds additional unforeseen issues, he corrects them to make it right (the cracked flue liner is a great example).  He leveled a section of concrete sidewalk in front of the porch, and reset and secured the concrete step up to the porch at no extra charge.  He took the time to find the right bricks to match the bricks from 2 decades ago used on our brick house - you'd never notice the bricks had been replaced.  Plus he's a fun guy to talk to.
