He also rebuilt our deck from the ground up using Trex decking because the base of the previous wood deck had rotted out. The transformation is incredible. "We recently had central air installed and needed to get rid of the former through the wall air conditioning units. When we first contacted Tom, he said he was booked through October, but he would come out and give us a quote. We made the appointment for the quote and he came as promised, looked at the work to be done and said he'd be able to do everything from AC removal to patching and final paint. He worked up a quote and e-mailed it to us within 24 hours. As we were not expecting the work to be done until mid-October, it was a pleasant surprise to hear from him in late September asking if it was a good time to start the job. He was very prompt and showed up when he said he would. He was also very meticulous about his work, cleaning up the work areas each day and hauled away the old AC units for us. The work was completed over the course of a week as he applied several layers of spackle which needed to dry fully before further application or paint. The walls look fantastic and you would't know that we used to have AC units as his work was seamless. We also had a small drywall repair job that we added when Tom arrived and he took care of it for us without additional charge. We plan to hire him again for future projects in our house and will recommend him to others."

My property was cleaned up very well when the job was finished, including using magnets to pick up any stray nails. Everyone was very professional and nice. "When my roof started leaking I began the arduous task of getting estimates for a new roof. After getting a number of estimates from most of the minor and major roofing companies serving Orange County NY, I was not impressed. Most of the larger companies were expensive and the owner is not involved in the installation. The smaller companies had no website or did not belong to the Better Business Bureau. I also received a couple of estimates from home improvement companies which although they had much lower estimates, they were not accredited with the shingle manufacturer which could void the warranty. As a last resort I called Luna Siding and Roofing, Inc. Their salesman Sam came out the next day and I explained to him I did not need the whole sales pitch about the shingles which I had heard a number of times already. He explained to me that the owner is on site throughout the roof installation. Sam did not give me an estimate on the spot which all of the other contractors previously had. A day or two later I received a detailed estimate of the work to be done with a ton of additional information. I was also impressed with the fact that I was given a 48 hour discounted price which helped to expedite my decision. After doing some research of the company as well as requesting photos of actual work that they had done, I signed a contract. To my luck they had an immediate opening. Within a few days after sending a deposit, the owner Rolando and his crew arrived 7am in the morning and immediately went to work. Unfortunately for me the roof sheathing had two problems, it was only 3/8 inch plywood and portions of the roof exposed to direct sunlight all day had melted the shingles onto the plywood which was impossible to remove. After doing some quick online research and talking to Rolando, I decided to have the entire roof sheathing replaced with 1/2 inch plywood. Although it was unexpected expense, I do not believe in being penny wise and dollar foolish as the saying goes, putting a new roof over questionable roof sheathing could lead to very expensive problems later which the shingle manufacturer may not cover. Rolando was also flexible with allowing me to pay a small balance in the near future after the holidays. The crew worked throughout the day and were completed by 4 in the afternoon. The yard was completely cleaned and the roof looked great. I would highly recommend Luna Siding and Roofing to friends and family."

Alan's crew arrived promptly and performed all the work carefully, removed and returned items on the deck and porch. The entire work was performed to our satisfaction. "I found this company while searching the internet for contractors in my area. Derek (Owner) was my 5th a final estimate. In this case, saving the best for last was a TRUE statement. I will be honest, was Derek the cheapest? No...Was he the most expensive, absolutely not. Was he the most professional, straight forward, honest.....YES. I have never met or spoke with Derek before we met the day of our estimate. Derek was the only one to bring documentation about his company, his insurance policies, and provided a full written contract within DAYS of our initial meeting. We worked on a price that was fair for both of us and he broke down all of his costs to highlight why his price was where it was. It is the little things that won him the job. Changing the locks on my basement door so I would never have to worry about anyone coming upstairs, ordering a port-a-potty so no one would have to use my bathroom inside, daily morning phone calls to let me know what was being done that day and the upcoming days, etc. Every single one of his workers were kind, intelligent, hard working, and professional. Choosing Derek to complete my project was a choice I am glad I made. Derek is a perfectionist, and will not stop until it is 110%.
