Small jobs welcome

"Excellent craftsmanship! We love our refaced cabinets. Tom was polite and very professional. Cleaned up at the end of each day and ensured dust didn't make it's way into other parts of the house. He gave us ideas and suggestions that we had not considered and really enhanced the quality of the job. Wish I had done this years ago. My kitchen looks brand new! Beautiful job and I highly recommend!!!"

"They were very professional. They came in matched my color to the cabinets perfectly. If you want a big project that involves your kitchen cabinets refacing I highly recommend The Home Depot. I never went to the store everything was done in my house. Great Job."

"This was a very good experience. They where on time. It was done to the agreed upon price. The owner is Frank Tedeschi. We had a warped junk drawer. Rather then send for new drawer which would have cost us another 250 dollars, Frank repaired the drawer for a nominal fee. This was not part of the deal but he did it anyway. The quality of the work is outstanding. The cabinets look like new if not better. There was minimal inconvenience to us. They removed the cabinets doors and refinished them in their shop and then returned and them and re-installed them."

"Platinum Carpentry oversaw a troubled basement renovation and a second floor kitchen and bath full renovation.  The property was an older property  and had complicated electrical,  plumbing, and "black construction" issues.  Everything had to be done to municipal code specifications,  All the work passed inspections with no problems.  All the work was done timely, professionally and appears durable.  The detail and finishes were outstanding.  The pricing was fair and reasonable.  I have no reservation in recommending Platinum Carpentry as an outstanding general contractor firm and will be contracting them in the future for other home and commercial renovation projects."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Saddle Brook, NJ

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
