"We chose SureGuard even though we had better quotes from other companies because we were sold on promise that work would be completed by their crews and supervised by their foreman daily. We loved the idea of hiring a local business that uses their own crews. It was obvious once work began that SureGuard was subcontracting work to other companies, and they did not send their foreman with these crews. The paint crew arrived and didn’t seem to have a complete picture of the work to be performed. They were difficult to communicate with and we had questions about the quality of their workmanship. I ended up having to place calls with their office to address my concern. To SureGuards credit, they did send out someone the following morning and my concerns were addressed. The work did turn out ok in the end, however the process was stressful. Had we known they were going to sub out the work we would have gone with the other bids. I would consider them for roofing, which appears to be their core business."

From my initial call for a quote to project completion he was available to answer questions and concerns from color selection, dumpster placement and a tricky gutter drainage problem. The Element crew was extremely hard working and courteous, arriving on time and working late when necessary. The quoted price only changed due to numerous wood panels that needed replacement which could not be detected until the original shingles were removed. I was fully informed in the quote of this potential increase, so no surprises there. Cleanup was exceptional as the crew combed shrubbery for debris and used magnetic rakes to find stray nails even in the near lawn edges. The Element roofing crew chief was complimentary of his boss (wanting to please him), his wages and the steady amount of work he receives. "Overall, I would grade them a B+.  The owner is very responsive when you communicate with her on Angie's list, never had to wait more than one day for a reply.  I purchased the service on Angie's List on April 6th.  The first date they had available was 5/9 for the powerwash and 5/10 for the deck stain. Other companies, I contacted were booked for the summer, or earliest service was June.   They came on 5/9 and everything was done great, unfortunately it rained the next day so they could not do the stain until 5/25 or 5/26.  5/25 showed a high chance of rain, so they agreed to move up the date to 5/22.  I really appreciated them doing that, and it demonstarted to me they wanted to finish my deck in a timely manner.  They finished the deck on 5/26, the deck looked great and, I paid an additional $300 to have my stairs, support beams, and some nails hammered in.  In addition, Logan sanded the grill marks off the deck and brought our attention to some carpenter bees that were living in my deck.  All n all, I would definitely have them come back and stain my deck in a few years.
