"Ambassador Plumbing did a great job in pin pointing the problem and fixing it. They picked up the new Moen faucet and came back the next morning to install it."

"The plumber was very punctual and polite and did an excellent job. He made a couple of additional recommendations regarding our aging pipes and unsupported water heater overflow tank while he was here, but didn't push any services. He was also great when our giant, hyper dog got inquisitive and came over to say hi. The price was a little more than we were expecting, mostly because the awkward space he had to fit the sink into required some extra time and parts from his truck, but seemed to be in line with what we had seen while researching our plumbing options."

"It started off bad because I had the water heater installed, submitted my paperwork for my rebate for the installation and then my rebate ended up not getting honored because the water heater that was installed didn't qualify for Spire's rebate. Turn's out that the water heater that would fit my location as well as satisfy Spire's rebate, I would have had to wait 5 to 6 weeks for that specific water heater so, the owner of Hosack's Plumbing cut me a check for the amount of the rebate and the amount over time that the new water heater would have saved me. Not the perfect situation but, that was a win win for me as well as Hosack's Plumbing because a good water heater was installed just not one that would quite fit the Spire requirements for the rebate! Hence we didn't need to take a brand new water heater out and replace it with another water heater that was just .05 UEF Higher!"

"Plumber came to my house to assess work required and products that I needed to purchase in advance. Kelly Spradley returned twice to complete the job. He was excellent, and I have every intention of requesting him for future plumbing renovations that we have already discussed"

"First of all I called with multiple small things in my house. i had two toilets that were not functioning properly, one the handle would stick and run and the other leaked and ran, I had a clogged bathtub drain, and a noisy shower head. They came on time but I heard nothing after the first visit. Unfortunately instead of calling the homeowner who booked the appointment and left a contact number they spoke with "my daughter" who was home at the appointment. Unfortunately, "my daughter" is actually my non primary English speaking Au Pair that just was home to allow the people into the house. Therefore I got a jumbled communication about what actually happened. Neither toilet was fixed, the drain was still clogged, and the shower head was still noisy. The most unfortunate thing about the lack of communication is that not only did they not fix the toilets, they broke one of them in trying so it did not work at all anymore. We did not discover this until after using it. I called back the next day to the office to find out that they had to special order parts for the toilets, the shower head needed to be replaced and I would have to provide, and the drain needed a different company. I asked that someone at least come out and make the toilet flush so that we did not have to sit with a dirty, used toilet waiting for parts. They had someone come out the next day. I got a call from that plumber who said they could just fix the toilets!?! Not sure why the first person needed special order parts, but this guy had what he needed in the truck and fixed both toilets. He still told me they did not take care of stopped up bathtubs and needed another company and provided the phone number. I did not receive the invoice for a couple of days later and was surprised to see a bill for almost $540 to fix the flushing mechanisms on two toilets. They charge $150/hour for labor on top of the $55 service fee. They did credit me the "labor" of the first day that left me with a broken toilet. In the end, they fix the issues, I called another company and got the drain snaked for total of $130. My recommendation, if you have a large plumbing problem that needs a plumber consider them but be aware of the hourly fee for labor. If you have something small like a toilet flushing mechanism, consider a handy man, it will be much more economical."

"The job included cutting a section of the wall to access the cracked PVC tee, removing the broken tee and installing a replacement tee. Daniel was prompt, efficient and cleaned up his work space. Didn't have other quotes to compare due to no return calls from other plumbing companies but price seemed reasonable. Would definitely use this company again!"

"Matt was wonderful! We needed a new water pressure valve since ours was original to the house. He ordered the part and scheduled the install, once the part was in. Installation was a breeze and he was professional as usual.  He even took a look at our daughter's bathroom toilet, which keeps leaking and ordered a part for that too. He will be back soon with the replacement part for that as well. <br /> We love the service that Matt with Plumbing Plus gives us. He is such a pleasure to work with! Plumbing Plus is the ONLY plumbing service that we will ever use! <br />"

"Perfect. I don't think I could have written a better script for how the project went from the time I placed the call until the job was completed. The gentleman on the phone was friendly, asked good questions, was able to get my repair serviced the same day, called when the tech was on his way. The tech was outstanding. He removed his boots before coming into my house (it snowed today), explained the needed repairs, went to work and completed the job quickly and from all visual accounts, accurately. The tech was extraordinarily professional. This is the third or fourth time I've used OJ Laughlin and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing plumbing work."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Saint-louis, MO

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
