"Do not contact this company, and do not be misled by their professional appearance. The quality of their work is poor, and their follow-up warranty service is virtually nonexistent. I had major foundation repair work completed by EagleLift (now part of Groundworks) in 2023. The project included underpinning the perimeter foundation with more than 20 push piers and replacing approximately 50 crawl-space posts. Problems began on day one. Even after this costly repair, several areas of the house remained unlevel. EagleLift attempted to correct the issue but was unable to do so. The situation worsened after EagleLift became part of Groundworks. Groundworks has failed to respond to my service requests, despite my 25-year warranty being part of the contract. As a result, I had to spend additional time and money to completely replace the portion of the foundation where the issues were most severe. Other areas that were repaired by Groundworks still have unresolved problems, and I have receiv"

"They recommended a good solution for the occasional shallow flooding in the garage (installing a sump pump) They started soon after we submitted the request and they did a good job. Most importantly, the pump kept the garage dry through our seemingly endless rains this winter. There are 2 reasons I rate the job with 4 stars rather than 5. (1) The job did not pass the city’s inspection and a critical connection had to be reconfigured (after which it passed) and (2) there was some weirdness around payment on the last day of the actual work (before the inspection) in which the crew seemed unwilling to leave without a check and then were slowly driving around the neighborhood afterwards. When I brought this up with my contact at the company, he denied that the van was theirs (which it definitely was) and didn’t really explain or defuse the bad feeling this created. But … they did a good job and in this day and age that’s really important and can’t be taken for granted. I recommend this company with the suggestion that paperwork, permitting, terms of payment etc should be clearly settled in advance."

FAQs for concrete foundation raise projects in San Francisco, CA

On average, it takes two to seven days to physically raise your house. However, this does not include the preparation work, which is often the most lengthy process. The entire project, including preparation, obtaining permits, disconnecting utilities, and any subsequent landscaping, can take four to eight weeks. This timeline ensures everything is done safely and that your home remains structurally sound.

If proper safety protocols are not followed, raising a house can cause severe damage, as the process involves applying controlled force to the home's structure. The risks involved make it crucial to hire a skilled contractor who uses engineered methods to secure your home and prevent any harm to your household.

If your foundation shows signs of instability after raising your home, you might need to add structural support. A structural engineer can assess your foundation and recommend reinforcements to ensure your house stays stable and safe for the long term. Available support options include installing additional piers or pilings, reinforcing existing footings, or using steel beams to distribute the load more evenly.

You will need a structural engineer to assess your home before you begin. These professionals determine whether your house is suitable for lifting and identify any issues that could compromise its stability. Their expertise ensures that the project is designed correctly and all risks are managed to achieve a successful lift.
