"Hired ROC Construction for a garage conversion/ADU. Working with Daniel from ROC Construction was a pleasure. The project started right on time and progressed as expected with no surprises. Daniel made sure that we understood the process and answered all of our questions. We were so happy with our ADU that we hired ROC to remodel the 2 bathrooms in the main house just a few months later."

"Their work is so good, I was actually FLOORED! The response time was beyond fast when I posted a request on Angi, and was even able to schedule a bid for the project the same day. Alfonso and George stopped by and inspected the small outdoor patio and adjoining guest room that I wanted to remove the carpet and replace with terra cotta tile. We purchased the house from a flipper, and had no idea what lay under the squeeking carpet. The charge to level the room for the tile was lower than we expected. The bid was right on point and their craftsmanship and professionalism was top notch. I also appreciate the attention that Afonso and George took during the project to make sure everything was going smoothly. I am already planning another project with them! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
