"We engaged Laffey Concrete for our home addition project after soliciting quotes from four different concrete companies. We ultimately chose Laffey Concrete because Travis struck us as a genuinely friendly and trustworthy individual. Although their estimate was not the lowestâ  landing in the middle rangeâ  Travis's demeanor left a positive impression on us. The initial phase involved laying the foundation, which they completed satisfactorily and passed inspection. However, once the concrete cured, we noticed that one side was uneven. Travis explained that they had "forgotten the level," but they managed to rectify the issue using epoxy filler. Additionally, we discovered that one of the workers had stepped into the slurry coat multiple times before it had set, leaving unsightly shoe prints throughout the crawlspace. Moving on to the second phase, which included the patio and concrete steps, we placed our trust in Laffey Concrete's claimed "expertise." Unfortunately, we were met with disappointment. After the completion of the patio and steps, we quickly observed that the steps were uneven, poorly finished, and marred by pockmarks and indentations, with the corners left unrefined. After the first rainfall, we were dismayed to find water pooling on the patio right in front of the steps. When I sent a photo to express my concerns, Travis assured me that the water would dissipate and that the area would eventually drain, but it never improved. After following up, he finally agreed to come by and assess the situation. He acknowledged that the pitch was incorrect and promised to fix it, which required tearing out about a third of the patio to achieve the proper slope. I often wondered why this issue wasn't addressed from the outset. Both my wife and I reached out to Travis multiple times regarding the condition of the steps. His responses were sporadic, filled with excuses about delays and reasons for not addressing the issues promptly, yet the subpar quality of the steps remained unresolved. Since then, several other concrete companies have evaluated Laffey Concrete's work and expressed disbelief at the quality we received."

"I hired Varelas Concrete to put in my stamped concrete patio. They did complete the job satisfactorily, not fantastic, but ok. My biggest issue is just prior to completion Araceli arrived and had them measure the patio and said it looked too big. She then said I owed an additional $812 because there was more square footage than was in the contract. The crew still had a few hours of work to do building a seating wall and two pillars, and I got the inclination that if I didn't pay, she would have pulled the crew and left the job unfinished. I foolishly paid her the extra amount because I wanted it completed, and I mistakenly trusted her. I didn't feel that the square footage was over the contract amount, especially since she was the one who painted it out when we first got the estimate. I measured the finished patio using two different methods of calculation and found it to actually be slightly smaller than the original contracted square footage. I wasn't worried about that difference, but the additional charge for over 60 square feet x $13/sqft was certainly inappropriate as the extra square footage just isn't there. I texted her to which she initially replied, but I asked if we could have a conversation about it instead of texting. I asked to her to call the next day at her convenience and wished her a good evening. She never returned my calls, or texts from that point on to discuss the discrepancy like an adult. I highly recommend that you stay away from this company due to the poor communication and business practices of Araceli. The guys were pleasant while on the job, but the leadership is very unprofessional. She owes me $812 and refuses to communicate despite me being very polite and professional and wanting to discuss the matter like adults."
