"Charles was absolutely exceptional to work with to get our radon mitigation installation as he quoted us a very competitive price, demonstrating flexibility to work with our schedules, and completed the project quickly and efficiently resulting in reduced and safe radon levels in our recently purchased home. I was very impressed with his overall professionalism, communication, and work ethic. I would absolutely recommend anybody in the Triad area contact Stay Gone Radon and Charles to complete their radon testing and mitigation."

"Randy did a good job on install. He has all the right tools, know how to use them. Was careful to not damage house.
I have a radon meter, it was reading consistent 8.0, after mitigation system installed, reading was .8, a decrease of a factor of 10 and well below the 4 recommended by the EPA. Randy did two day test with his much more expensive meter and reading was .4 so I am happy that problem was solved.
The only issue Randy needs to work on is his paper work. I asked for a written contract. He supplied a boiler plate description of what might be done, but the price was not included with this. He said they do not include price in same paper work in his business.
I find this hard to believe. I never did get an actual written on paper price. But he did do the work for the price he quoted orally.
I really do not trust this way of doing business.
He also needed to be bugged to send the written receipt he promised. The receipt and the results of the test with his meter were sent and were professional, he just needs to be bugged..
All in all I would use him again. .

"Exceptional customer service.  Mr Allen arrived a few minutes early with everything needed to accomplish his job.  He was very professional and knowledgeable.  Based on Mr Allen's findings (termite and water damage, and multiple unprofessional repairs under the house), I decided not to purchase the property; saving myself tens of thousands of dollars to correct the problems.  I highly recommend Mr Allen and fully intend to use his services in the future.

"I spoke by phone with the owner.  A buyer had an inspection and reinspection done on the house I'm selling.  Let's just say I didn't trust the inspector's assessment.  I was exploring having my own inspection done to see if the items identified were actually problematic.  The owner (sorry, I don't recall the name) talked me through the issues, explained how inspections and reinspections are done, and even asked me about the items that were identified.  He gave me lots of FREE advice about how to handle the problem.  It's evident that he has a lot of experience in the field and he was very friendly and helpful.  The next time I'm looking for an inspector, I will definitely hire Pillar to Post.

"It was great working with Sal Nolfo of Advanced Radon Detection. He responded very quickly to make sure that I had the results back before the Due Diligence period ended for the contract to buy the house my wife and I are considering. I first talked with him on Thursday June 30, 2011 and he started the test on Monday July 4. The test was completed 48 hours later on Wednesday July 6, 2011.

Sal was a great person to work with that provided exactly what he said he would provide at a cost of $95 rather than other quotes that were approximately $140 - $150 for the same test. His report included the hourly readings of radon level as well as the average level that the EPA uses as a basis for analyzing risk."

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Sanford, NC

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
