"Erinn was my initial contact and he gave a very through and fair estimate. We had structural work done to support floor joists and large beams under the garage that needed replacing. Ernesto and his team, Julio, Salvatore and Gilder worked tirelessly to complete the work and were respectful, punctual, informative and good humoured throughout the entire process. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. A really great company!!"

"Thank you Built Strong Construction for repairing our foundation!!! We’ve had sagging floors for years now but just recently got more cracks and doors weren’t closing and just swinging open. We hired Built Strong to fix our doors and they ended up fixing our entire foundation for a low cost. We now have our floors leveled and strong, besides the doors finally closing smoothly. We got more than we expected and so happy, thank you."

"Bob and his assistant painted our house after repairing some damaged wood and metal elements. They got the job done in just a couple of days, and they did such a beautiful job that we asked them to come back and paint our entire backyard wall. They were extremely nice and professional; they were careful about following Covid rules; and they left our place cleaner than they'd found it. Bob's prices are affordable, and he truly takes pride in his work. We will definitely call him again!"

"I went with Juon Painting because I felt Edwin was an honest and sincere businessman and his estimate was one of the lowest I had received (Estimates ranged from $2500 to $10000!). I did have a hard time getting a hold of him when I actually wanted the work done, but it was the Christmas holidays and they were out of town. Once I did get a hold of them, they were ready to start work the next day. Three workmen showed up on time and started the work. They scraped the ceiling in one day and I have high ceilings in the living room. They did a beautiful job of patching up all the holes and cracks in the condo I just bought. The paint job is seamless and the colors I chose were spot on. The lead painter ended up staying late the last day to finish painting the cabinets because I had new countertops put in and didn't realize that I should have scheduled it for another day. He even helped me remove an old doorknob as he waited for the countertop guys to finish so he could paint the kitchen cabinets. They finished a 3BR, 1250 sf unit in three days. I am very pleased with the work. The estimate I received includes painting of the new baseboards once I get the flooring installed. I would totally use them again. Their estimates were very reasonable. The higher estimates claimed they were high because removal of the acoustic ceiling would take days and would be difficult to remove. Juon proved them all wrong as they removed it all in one day and patched the ceiling in the same day! I would highly recommend them and will use them again for future projects."

"The estimate was very thorough and every question I asked I was provided an in depth explanation. Their bid came in higher then others, but I really appreciated them taking the time to explain why they recommended certain work vs. the other solutions. They also back up their work with a 25 yr warranty. Throughout the whole process EJ was very responsive over email and anything that came up a representative from the office would come to site to check on the work. The men doing the work were always on site before starting time and worked hard. Carlos was very easy to talk to and made it a comfortable situation considering it was three + weeks with them directly underneath your feet, our house on stilts and not much space to work with. They were all very nice guys. All the work passed inspection. Towards the end I think the pressure to finish was on and there were some hiccups in the quality of the finished project, but EJ took good care of us and made sure everything was to our satisfaction in the end. I am very happy with the work and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs to get foundation work done."

"I've dealt with a number of contractors throughout the years and I must say Adam Othman is truly one of a kind. Adam only works on one job at a time and the quality of service really shows. I knew Adam was the right person for our project immediately after our very first phone call. He took his time to really understand my objectives. You immediately get the sense that Adam is unlike other contractors. He is extremely sensitive to the client's budget and goes beyond the call of duty to get the job done right and on budget. Our project involved a 1922 Spanish home with a very low tiled ceiling. The ceiling was extremely out of scale in relation to the size of the room and it was our objective to raise it as high as possible. Prior to our contract, Adam dedicated so much time surveying the attic on two separate occasions and helped us come up with a solution that didn't require any major structural modification to our existing roof. Adam is a very methodical thinker. You could literally see his mind coming up with solutions as he quietly studied the project. You know you are in good hands because of the questions he asks. He anticipates problems before they even happen and that really put us at ease. Our project time frame was 4 weeks. Adam started the project on time and finished EXACTLY on the week he promised. He is by far the most organized contractor I've ever dealt with. Workmanship was superb. The work area was always left clean and the framing he personally did on the ceiling was truly a work of art. Before the drywall went up, he and I joked that the framing was too beautiful to cover up. He did absolutely beautiful work. The drywall crew did an outstanding job skim coating the plaster walls and their workmanship was as superb as Adam's. He clearly hires the best sub contractors in the business. It was the most stress free experience we've had from any previous contractor and that is testament to the way Adam runs his business. The living room is now quickly becoming my favorite room in the house and I am grateful to Adam for putting all his heart into it. He is truly a wonderful contractor who I now consider a friend. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending him to anyone. He is truly the best!"

"Will and his team at CXC did a great job replacing a failing stem wall perimeter foundation on my 1920s mid-city home. I bid the project out to six different contractors. His bid came in close to most and it became quickly apparent that his crew would delivery the highest quality and integrity to the job. His ability to accommodate my scheduling needs, the crew's many years of experience and overall professionalism, and the quick communication from the office administration all resulted in a great experience. A big shout out to WILL (Owner), CELSO (Foreman), and ROSANNA (Administration). Word of advice, get multiple bids and always verify general commercial liability insurance and that it covers the type of work that is going to be done. CXC's was easily verified...others were not and in some instance foundation repair was not even underwritten into their policies. CXC is BBB accredited, many others are not. I would not hesitate to work with Will and CXC again on my future projects."

"There were 2 teams that came to the door, one for the deck and the other for the paver project, I explained the details and even showed them a somewhat blueprint of my dream deck and these guys were on point! ... The pavers were finished quick and my old deck was demolished, the wood was in pretty bad shape. The guys built it and refinished it with the waterproof stain I had chosen. I was amazed at their hard work. Maybe once or twice they ran late by coming in 15/20 min  late,  but they did a great job overall. <br /> The pavers had a combo of cobble stone and river stone which led to the grassy area."

"We had a major puddle when our washing machine emptied out onto the floor.  The  washer repair man found it was caused by the drain pipe in the wall breaking off, and not just from a bad washing machine hose.  It had apparently been leaking a bit before that because there was quite a bit of mold in the wall behind the machine.  The laundry room backed onto the family room so that there was a fair amount of drywall that the mold remediation company had to remove.  We had used Your Handyman before and had found that they did an excellent job.  And, because we knew that we were going to be gone most of the time that the work was being done, we knew that we could trust Jeff.  The work involved replacing and painting drywall & trim, replacing the guilty drain pipe, putting the wiring back and replacing the floor and wall of our under-sink cabinet.  It was easy to work out with Jeff what he would do and what we would do ourselves. We were delighted to return and find everything looking better than it had before the leak and that he had even put back our washer and dryer. We're very happy with everything he did.Mark and Jeff are punctual, friendly and professional.  We plan to hire them again for a couple of upcoming projects."

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Santa Barbara, CA

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
