"Dave was fantastic. He replied to my inquiry quickly, I think within the hour of placing it. We discussed the situation (no hot water) and arranged for him to take a look the next morning. After seeing the project and sizing up what was necessary for the fix, he located the replacement tank and parts. What made things tricky was the location of the broken tank which was under the staircase in a small closet. Plus the particular water heater needed was not a full size, it was a shorter model, 35 gallons. Dave was thorough, tidy and explained everything. Matter of fact, we had several great conversations during the day about a variety of topics unrelated to home repairs. It was a pleasure working with Dave and I will call him again when needed. "Just too expensive for what you get. Feels like a big company nickel and dime move. I get having a trip charge. Which was $109. But then to have the tech who was great btw (not his fault), but was tentative about fixing the problem because of creating more damage. Another $160 for a simple diagnostic charge, again without fixing the problem. I already knew the diagnosis. So he basically did a Band-Aid fix (greased the Knob) and still charged me over $280+ for what equated to be 10 minutes of work. It was ridiculously high for the service provided. Next time I?m going to an independent, local guy."
