"Last year Northland Fence installed a tan vinyl privacy fence for my 1 acre lot, replacing a rotted cedar fence that was falling down. I was really impressed by the post design as a means to anchor the fencing without future rotting issues, and it saved lots of installation time versus the older cement process. This was a huge fence, and they completed in two days of work, and the fence looks great! Fast forward one year later and strong winds this year have knocked over 6 x 30-foot trees from my neighbor's yard into my yard, damaging the fence in multiple places, bending posts and breaking side panels. Tim came by to perform the repair last week and the fence is completely restored to previous condition in about 2-3 hours of work. You could not tell that so much damage had occurred except for some cleaning that I need to do. While onsite, Tim also addressed some sag in installed fence doors with very well-built diagonal braces and adjusted the doors to being square. He was polite, professional, and delivered great results - represents the Northland Fence brand well. Strongly endorse the fence solutions from Northland. "Outstanding! We had an existing underground fence system from a competitor that was not working properly. Dave spoke with me and determined that the issue was likely due to a substandard wire from the original system that had corroded. He volunteered that Hidden Fence could come out and bury a new wire, keeping the existing generator and collar at a significantly cheaper cost than purchasing an entirely new system. He turned me over to their installer, Bruce who promptly arranged a time to complete the work. They arrived right on time and worked quickly and efficiently, installing a higher grade wire. The yard barely has any marks in it and the system is working perfectly. My experience with Hidden Fence has been beyond expectations across the board - I would recommend them agin in a heart beat."

"This company is Awesome! Of the three company's we chose to speak with from Angie's list Peckels was the only one that met with me rather than just show up, look at the job and call me. I was impressed with the attention to detail and some additional reinforcement they salesman suggested. We were very eager to get the work done since the wood fence was leaning way over because multiple posts had broken. They got us on the scheduled right away. A week later the fence broke free, half of it laying down and the other half twisting up to the good fence post. We were afraid all this twisting might make the fence unmendable. I called Peckels and they moved us up in the scheduled and came in the next two days to complete the repair. As soon as I figure out how I will nominate them for the page of happiness and always recommended them."

I called Jim in a panic.  I explained that the crew from a tree service  just left our house, having cut through our chain link fence in two places to remove three small weed trees from our yard.  The problem was, that fence separates our yard from our neighbors' yard -- and their two dogs, who would be running around the yard in about six hours. 

I desperately wanted that fence fixed before they got home.  I told Jim my story, and he promptly called one of his project managers, who left a job on the other side of town to come over and fix our fence.  I couldn't have asked for better work or a nicer guy to do the repairs.  "

"Hal's work is top-notch but I grew increasingly frustrated with the timing and inconsistency of his work habits. His was one of several estimates I received and basically he said he would beat any estimate I received. The difference is that everyone else was going to use cedar and he only works with pressure-treated Southern yellow pine, which is less than half the cost of cedar. I was unsure of the durability and longevity of that product so I did extensive research online. Still unsure, I drive around the Twin Cities to see other jobs Hal did that gave stood the test of time and I decided to move forward. Clearly, the way he builds his fences require considerably more manual labor than those built with cedar posts and pickets so essentially instead of paying for the higher cost of cedar, you pay for increased labor costs. Unfortunately, Hal isn't as going as predicting when he will get jobs complete as he is completing them well. He was over a month late in getting started and I repeatedly had to call him to inquire about the delay. It was quite frustrating but since I didn't absolutely need the fence done by a certain date, I decided to practice patience. Once he finally started, most days he and his helper only worked 4 hours so the project dragged on far longer than I thought it would. Admittedly, there were a couple of weather-related days but other times when it was a perfect day, they wouldn't show up and I would give no idea when they were coming again. After I told him I really needed to have him be more communicative, he was and within a short time after that conversation, he completed the fence. The fence is beautiful and appears very sturdy. We'll see how it withstands time and weather but for now I am very happy with it. Hal does beautiful work but if you are on a strict timeline I would not recommend working with him. If you are flexible and don't mind putting more effort into communication, he is a great person to work with.

"Everything was more than my expectations. They started and completed the work as scheduled; kept the area clean. The quality of work was great! I'm very pleased with the outcome. The fence is beautiful; my dog loves it too.

"Between the main house and out buildings, I have a lot of roof (@90 squares) and this was a big investment.  I used Angie's list to identify 3 bids and Greene was well below one and equal to the other.  Anyone can cover your roof with shingles, but my home has been added on through the years and this was a very complex job (many valleys and trouble areas).  Damian (owner) is a true craftsman and was very knowledgeable about best practices and how to best address each potential problem area.  What I learned is that all these companies use the same crews.  It's a seasonal business and there is no way they can keep their own employees.  Whether you use Company A, B or C, there is a very good chance the same guys will be up on your roof.  What distinguishes them on price and value are two things - materials used and what those guys actually do up on your roof.  This is where Greene excelled.  They use all top drawer materials and know what needs to be done.  Again, anyone can cover your roof - they had a great plan.  Also, everyone makes promises, but Greene came through.
Even at a $35K price point, the bidding process is very loose.  They use a form with vague things like "new shingles" checked.  Not a very precise contract.  I developed a very detailed list of assumptions and presented it to Damian and he gladly signed it.  I believe Damian is very honest and is dedicated to doing high quality work.  He came through on every promise.  These companies probably produce pile of bids, so it's understandable that they are not very precise at first.   If there was any moment of concern, it was Damian's assurance that he would be on the job "all" day.  Actually, he was on the job "each" day.  However, he was always there at critical moments and completed the tricky areas himself.  It was also clear that his crew fully understood what needed to be done.  I confess, I pulled an "old guy" and did work from home during the installation (it's the prep work that counts.  All finished jobs look the same to me).  Every time I went up and checked, everything was being done as agreed. Requirements had been clearly communicated to everyone on site.
Damian promised a 50 year warranty from the manufacturer (Certainteed) and shortly after completion, I received the certificate from the manufacturer.  Who knows how good it is, but he produced as promised.  I also believe if there are any problems in the next few years, Damian will come back and fix them.  Also, they are very neat, caused no damage and cleaned up everything.
All in all, Damian is a trustworthy, skilled and customer-focused guy.  It was a great experience and am very pleased with what they provided.  I recommend Greene Construction without reservation."

Because we were out of state, they worked with us to ensure that our local representative could be available to accept delivery.  Installation was very professional.  We were so satisfied with the service, that we also purchased a front-loading washer and dryer.
