"The rep came out as promised, and gave us a quote on the spot- about $1000. He filled in the three woodpecker holes, and removed my messy attempts to eradicate the bird. He then added several "toys" to keep the bird away- an owl face with metallic streamers, and four little bicycle reflectors to confuse it. Finally, he set up a speaker that broadcasts timed recordings of bird distress calls and predator bird calls. He came back a week later and painted the repairs, using paint we gave him. Final report- we have not seen the woodpecker since. Nice job!"

"The problem was reported by my tenants. Birds were nesting in the gutter of my 2 story home. The birds managed to pulled the gutter back and create a hole. Nevernest guys came out promptly and solved the problem by removing the nest and closing up the hole. All work was performed within a couple of hours and I didn't even have to drive from the suburbs to meet them. No problems since work was completed. Great job!"

"Things went okay with them.  They didn’t catch the animal though.  They were here and put a net, and so nothing could get into it no more. Whatever it was it must have left and figured it could not get back because I was having a tremendous amount of smells and odors there. So I don’t have that anymore.  I think I would give them another chance in the future.  They did put a nice net there to keep the creature or whatever it was from getting back in there."

"

We purchased an Angie's List Big Deal Wasp and Hornet Preventative Maintenance treatment with Guillen Pest Solutions in May to have our house treated for the summer. We called and spoke with Stephen and he put us on the schedule for the first week of June. He told us that this was the best time to treat, it's when they're starting to build and become more active.

Stephen came exactly when he said he would. He was professional, pleasant and very informative. The treatment absolutely worked all summer around the exterior of my home. In August, we had a hornet nest in a tree in the back and another one in a bush in the front. For $130, Stephen came out, sprayed both nests, waited a day, then returned and removed the nests.

I would highly recommend Stephen and Guillen Pest Solutions. He is reasonably priced and a pleasure to deal with.

"We called Nuisance Animal Control because we had an animal living in our attic. Frank came inspected the attic and quickly found where the raccoon was getting in. He set out two traps and in three days the raccoon was trapped. Frank was knowledgeable, helpful and professional. His prices were reasonable. Not only did he remove the raccoon but within minutes of his first visit he told us that we had a bat living in the crevices by our front door (a surprise to me). He removed that for us as well. I would highly recommend Frank. He did an awesome job!"

FAQs for bird and bat pest control service projects in Schaumburg, IL

Bats slip through gaps as small as 1/4 inch, so your best defense is a thorough seal-up and a few simple habit tweaks. Start by caulking or screening every crack around chimneys, eaves, and vents. Swap dim porch bulbs for brighter LEDs or motion lights (bats dislike the glare), and consider an ultrasonic deterrent if they keep circling.

Finally, remove easy snacks—cover standing water and skip the nighttime bird-feeder refills. These steps go a long way toward keeping your home bat-free.

Standard homeowners’ insurance rarely pays for bat removal because insurers view it as routine maintenance. You might get partial help for guano cleanup or related repairs, but that varies by policy. Review your insurance policy carefully and contact your provider for a definitive explanation. Securing all entry points remains the homeowner’s responsibility to prevent future incursions.

The sweet spot for bat exclusion is late summer through spring. That window keeps you inside most state rules and protects baby bats that haven’t learned to fly yet. Removal activities are conducted when bats are less active, with some states permitting work from August through May and others ceasing removal in March. Consult a qualified bat removal specialist to confirm the valid timeframe for your area.

Spotting a dead bat can be unsettling, but a calm, careful approach keeps everyone safe. First, call your state wildlife office to report the find and ask about local rules. Snap a quick photo from a distance, then—wearing disposable gloves—place the bat in a sealed plastic bag for disposal as directed.

Wipe down nearby surfaces with disinfectant, wash your hands thoroughly, and schedule a pest-control pro to make sure no live bats (or harmful guano) remain hidden in the house.
