"DO NOT USE: We were quoted $6K for a shower kit install. Upon completion of the work, it was immediately apparent that the installation was defective and did not meet acceptable industry standards. Specifically: No water membrane was installed behind the shower kit, rendering the installation non-compliant with waterproofing best practices. No caulking was applied to seal seams, leaving the installation vulnerable to water intrusion and damage. The walls and surrounding trim were not plumb, which made it impossible to install a functioning shower door. A McLendon's supervisor subsequently inspected the installation onsite and acknowledged the poor workmanship. We were informed that the matter would be addressed, but despite multiple follow-up phone calls, we received no further communication or resolution from McLendon's. Nevertheless, the remaining balance of $3,100 was charged to our account without our authorization or consent and without any resolution."

"Akers outdoor plumbing came to see us when our water bills were astronomical and we concluded there was a leak outside the house. We discussed an appropriate replacement for our pipe, concluding it was likely the 40+ year old original had failed. Akers handed permit arrangement for the job and came out promptly to do the work as soon as they had an opening in their schedule. The job was done well with good communication about the need to break into our driveway slab in a small corner section to access the pipe. The yard looked great after the job and the water was back on with no issues. Our bills since suggest they fixed the issue. We chose copper piping per their recommendation with the hope that this is the final fix. We recommend them enthusiastically for this type of work."

"Rather a large project (started out at $20k and we added on some additional work for $10k more). Rotting railroad tie retaining walls (previous owner several decades earlier) removed and replaced with 2-3 man basalt rocks (300-800lb). Steps put also put into a retaining wall going to a patio. Large, well executed operation with the ability to put big rocks in tight places/structures. Estimate was on target along with communication/time expected. Work done August 2018 and is holding up like it was just installed."
Our employees' experiences in Rockery, enables them to present immense artistry through the finished wall. Each rock with its gentle curves and flat even front, are machine-set like a jigsaw puzzle.

"I contacted Smaller Deliveries to deliver 2 different sizes of gravel so I could rebase my driveway and add a smaller layer. This is the first time I've done a project like this. Mark was always responsive with phone calls. The first day, William brought the larger rock and gave me a helpful bit of pro advice which was spot on. He was able to do a great job spreading gravel with the truck. My driveway is circular and hilly. I had 2 loads and he made our day much less labor intensive. The second day, Mark brought the smaller rock, and also was an artist with his ability to get much of the gravel spread along the driveway. Both days were much less work and now I have a very nice gravel driveway. As a side note, I rented a plate compacter, and that is such a game changer for the end product. I will use Smaller Deliveries for future projects, they are friendly and provide great service."

"Plant People has been working with us for just over a year now, and we've been delighted with the entire team. They were recommended by my neighbor, who is a fabulous gardener herself. We have a yard full of established trees and shrubs that need thoughtful pruning, and Plant People does a great job working with nature and form, rather than against it. From the start, the owner, Shannon, has been responsive and communicative. She listened well to our needs and came up with a maintenance plan that suited our budget. Her crew is efficient, kind and attentive, and they always leave our garden looking healthy and happy, and our walkway and patio areas clear and tidy. Earlier this year, Shannon came over to advise me on landscape design and help me to plan out the next phase of our garden. The quote was very reasonable, but she was flexible in adjusting it (allowing us do some of the easier tasks, breaking it into phases, etc.). She has wonderful ideas, great vision and a wealth of knowledge, and I can't wait to work with her on this project when our budget allows!"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Seattle, WA

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
