"We are doing a basement remodel in a 1960's era home that had asbestos confirmed in the ceiling. Our contractor suggested we could save money by contracting the service ourselves. I contacted Protech Environmental through Angie's List based on the number of good reviews for this type of work. They responded quickly and told me what was necessary to get a quote. I figured out the sq footage of the ceiling area needed to be scraped off and Jason was able to respond quickly, file the necessary permits, and we set a date that worked for both of us. The workers arrived promptly as planned, did the work and completed the work on time. They walked us through upon completion. We were delighted with the ease of doing business with them, the good communication which addressed any issues we had, and they left the job site clean. The invoice was exactly what was quoted, no hidden fees or charges. Much easier than we expected, always a nice surprise."

"We purchased a newly built home. We experienced serious atmosphere problems inside and outside of our home, within three months of purchase. We had no answers, nor knowledge, for our very serious life threatening dilemma, until I  telephoned Jose Tech Inspection Services. He was very cordial, informative and helpful, on his expertise, services, and cost.  The Appointment was made promptly, only days following my initial phone call. The first appointment, Paul Jose,(owner) arrived according to scheduled time. He was very courteous, and Professional.  He explained his services thoroughly and exactly what he was going to do and how. The cost of the appointment was exactly what he quoted me. He also explained, he would contact me for lab results. He promptly did so, with a written report, and took the time to completely go over everything and answer all my questions, with great kindness and in simple terminology.  Jose Tech Inspection Services, sincerely goes above and beyond helping his clients.  His expertise service, knowledge, resources and communication, is absolutely outstanding. He even went with me to our city offices, at no cost. Spoke to numerous professional  people in our behalf in regards to the findings. He explains everything and chooses to give added assistance in resources and personal efforts for his clients. Paul Jose believes in his his profession, and helping people be safer and educated. He answered all my phone calls.  I never felt hurried, he never made me feel I was an  inconvenience.  I Highly Recommend Paul Jose Tech Services, to each and everyone that is buying a home or moving to a different home. His High Quality, and Knowledgably Services are Priceless, and Great Peace of Mind."

"Everything went extremely well! Diversified came out initially because of an odor I was getting from my crawlspace. After a free inspection turns out I had multiple problems from drainage to rats nesting in my Insulation. They consequently removed all materials and replaced it. They put a full drainage system repaired duct work sanitized and provided a warranty. Thank you Guys excellent experience."

"I called 7 contractors &Miller construction acceded all expectations.Although ,my project didn't go forward. Jason was so kind and so willing to go above and beyond to access the property. I was buying. His estimate was beyond thorough in detail and pricing. He really listens! great follow through when working with my 203 k loan. I would not hesitate in the future to hire miller construction to complete any and all home projects. Small to very extensive. He was more honest with me than my realtor and without his input. I would have bought a house that had a broken main sewer which is a $$. A++"

FAQs for toxic lead service projects in Seattle, WA

Your standard homeowners’ policy won’t pay for lead paint removal because insurers treat it as a maintenance issue, not a sudden loss. If a covered event like a fire or flood damages a lead-painted wall, the carrier will replace that wall but not cover full abatement. Plan to budget for lead removal yourself, or look into state or local grant programs that offset the cost.

Yes, you can sell, but federal law says you must disclose any known lead paint and share paperwork for past remediation or encapsulation. Honest disclosure protects you from legal trouble and helps buyers understand any work that still needs doing. Many sellers also offer a closing credit to cover future abatement, so talk to your real estate agent about local norms.

Lead paint contains the heavy metal lead, which becomes airborne when the coating chips, peels, or turns into dust. Breathing in or swallowing that dust allows lead to accumulate in your body and can trigger headaches, cognitive delays, organ damage, and other serious issues, especially in children and pets.

Because the danger hides in everyday activities like opening a window or sweeping a floor, complete removal or professional encapsulation is the safest long-term fix.

Plan on spending $200 to $400 on lead inspection costs. A certified tester will scan walls, trim, and other surfaces with an X-ray fluorescence device, zeroing in on high-risk spots throughout your home. The report will spell out where lead is present and how severe it is, giving you the facts you need to budget for removal and keep everyone safe.
