"I was very pleased with the fence installment. They were very timely from first meeting to start day (it did not take a long time to get them out and do the job. They also did excellent follow-up after our initial meeting. The only two complaints I have are: 1) The installment day they told me they would arrive about 7:15-7:30. They were late and did not call. I needed to be at an appointment so I phoned at 8:45 and they said they would be here in 30 minutes. They were another hour late and didn't call. I called again and they said they were out back. They should have called first or come to the front door to let me know they were here so I could show them what we wanted and leave for work. So on this front, they need to be more professional and call to let the customer know they will be late. And 2) When I had the original meeting to take measurements I mentioned that the only requirement was that they not use aliens on their work team. I was assured that this would not happen. When they showed up, there were three men (2 Americans and one Mexican). By that time it was too late and I didn't say anything. But those two complaints aside, they did a beautiful job on the fence. The excellent work they did more than made up for the two complaints I mentioned. It was custom made, aesthetic, and very well built. We are very pleased and would recommend Deck Cetera to neighbors and friends."

"We obtained several opinions and quotes, and decided to go with Mark and his team because they provided several solutions for the issue: 1) Install pipe underground that connected our sump pump output to a pop-up at the bottom of the yard, so that water from the sump pump could no longer saturate the lawn 2) plant topsoil and grass, so that the water had a place to go instead of just washing the mud down the hill, and 3) redo the concrete step at the base of our walkway with a gradient so that water would no longer collect there. All three solutions worked. We have since had two storms and our walkway has remained puddle and mud-free. Furthermore, Mark was very professional. Proactive communication, arrived on-time as expected. Called before he came by. Mark proved to be trustworthy, and followed-through on everything he said he would do. "After contacting Neale a few times by phone, I decided it was best to contact him by email.  Once I emailed, I got an immediate response and a date was set for them to come out and fix my front railing just a few days later.  They arrived within the window indicated and completed the work beautifully within a few hours.  They were extremely pleasant and professional.  The work was fantastic.  Neale provided the best price by far out of the several I received estimates from.  I would highly recommend Baltimore Wrought Fence and Rail."

"mail.We originally contacted the contractor near the end of April since my wife and I wanted to get some stumps removed from our back yard and to replace the fence. We were also wondering if we needed to get the large spruce tree at the front of the house cut down since it was leaning and shedding alot of needles. Ben came out and gave us an estimate for removing the tree, grinding and removing the stumps in the yard, taking down the fence, and grading the sloping back yard, which is what we also wanted.
The quote we received was complete, and stated that it was good for 60 days. Well, work ramped up, and we weren't able to get fence quotes as well as a boundary survey completed until mid to late June after we came back from vacation.At that point, we had decided to leave the tree alone, since we were told it was healthy and not a danger. We also found a fence company we were comfortable working with.
Two days after the 60 days was up, I both telephoned and emailed the company with a revison of the original quote (minus the tree removal)  and said that I hoped that that quote was still good, and that we would like to get the work done within two weeks to coordinate with the fence contractor.
I didn't get any response, so I again left a voice mail.
I understand that it is a small family-owned business, but I would hope that someone would check both email and voice messages at least once a day.  Email is great, but it still doesn't beat the personal touch of a real person's voice on the phone.
I'd still like to hire them, and I know that I let time pass before deciding to hire them, but I would appreciate some contact, please.

"It did not go well. I did not pay anything more. We discussed several projects and he was supposed to get back to me with pricing and he never did. He completed some work. The work he did was satisfactory. He did not have the proper tools to complete the work. It was up to three pieces of siding. I had three pieces that had fallen off the house, in different areas. One of those pieces broke when it fell. So I had gone ahead and purchased replacement siding, which I had there when he arrived. The piece I had bought required him to make one cut so it would fit. He said, "I don't have a saw with me to cut that." I thought it was odd that someone who is coming to work on vinyl siding would not have a saw with him, to cut a piece of vinyl siding. So essentially, he put the broken piece back up on the house. We discussed other projects, he made a list and then never responded."

"Provider was responsive and provided a written estimate. Price was in the middle of the three quotes I received. The crew arrived over an hour later than expected; this type of work is difficult to schedule, but a quick call to notify me they'd be late would have raised my overall rating. Once they arrived they immediately set to work without checking in, but they were perfectly courteous when I made my way back to talk to them. The work was conducted with care, and there was no damage to the nearby fence or lines. The stump was cut to approximately ground level - it was not ground out entirely, but given that I didn't request that and given the tree's location in an already-densely-wooded strip, this is entirely reasonable. Cleanup was excellent - I believe the crew left my carport cleaner than it was when they arrived. Overall it seemed to be good quality work at a good price.
