"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"I had a question about microwave repair. He answered all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately new parts are no longer available for model in question. He gave me part # if I wanted to call around for a used part somewhere. Got lots of good info."

"Tech was great. Very knowledgeable and courteous. Part wasn't on truck so it took additional day for repairs to be completed. I have not had an appliance repair in a long time so not sure what things cost. Bill was about $235 including diagnosis, parts, labor and 10% discount. Fair I guess all things considered. I would recommend."

"Called the company and received an immediate response.  The technician arrived on time and went right to work to diagnose the problem.  The washing machine motor was defective and unrepairable.  According to the technician the repair would exceed replacement.  Replacement cost for just the motor was over $400.00.  We elected to purchase a new washing machine instead of going forward on the repair. <br />"

"Very well.  Their goodwill has earned my determination to go to their website next time I need replacement appliance parts. In fact I already have another part for our dryer on order from them."

"I have Rescue Link's Single PC Pack which is an extended warranty for my laptop and also has unlimited tech support.  I use the tech support every month to run a PC tune up and it doesn't cost me any sort of fee or deductible beyond what my monthly charge is.  My laptop is three years old and I purchased this warranty earlier this year.  I recently spilled a soda on my laptop and called to file a claim.  This warranty covers accidental damage for laptops and tablets so I was able to call to file a claim.  They answered the phone and asked a few questions like: what is the serial number of the laptop, what operating system do you use and about how much did you pay for the laptop.  After answering these questions, they told me that my claim was approved and that I would receive a postage paid box within two business days.  I received the box with the materials required to safely ship my laptop.  It was actually kind of funny because they even provided a premeasured length of tape to close the box.  I filled out the paper asking for my password (so that they can get into the computer to make sure that the repairs were completed) and took the box to the UPS drop off site.  Two days later I got a call stating that they received the box and would start repairs.  Three days after that, they called me and told me that they had everything except the keyboard fixed and were just waiting on the new keyboard.  Two days later, I was told that they had the keyboard and would be shipping me my repaired computer and I should receive it in two to three business days.  All said, it only took seven days from the time that they received my computer for me to get it back.  They even cleaned it.  I am very happy with this service. <br />"

"Previously, we had hired someone who was not professional and had some issues. We decided to look for somebody who could come out pretty quickly and who seemed to have a better track record. We looked online for reviews, and that is how we found them. They were a little bit pricey but were still very good. It was worth the money in our case. They came and fixed the unit but it broke down again within 24 hours - they had said that it probably would. So then they took all the charges that they had applied for the fixing of the unit and applied it towards the new air conditioning unit. They helped me out a lot. I was sick and newly pregnant, and they even brought me a temporary air conditioner to use in the bedroom for a couple of days. They did a great job. It was definitely pricey. I didn’t know that it was going to be a lot pricier at another place because I think I called around a little too. It is just hard to swallow $6000, no matter who we are giving it to, and I don’t know that it is necessarily them. When they came out the first time, it was in the middle of the night - a Saturday night - and they did charge a little extra for that, but we still got the service immediately. It was worth it. Moreover, it was a tax rebate but we haven’t got the tax rebate yet. We would use them again in the future if necessary."

"I was visiting in the Rome, GA area in a motor home. My over-the-range microwave/convection oven began sporadically pausing while cooking. I called Mr. Pruett and reached voice mail which instructed me to leave a message and informed me that he would return the call. Mr. Pruett called at the end of that same business day and arranged for a service call the following day at 1:00 pm. Since I was staying in a local campground, I asked that he call shortly before arriving so that I could meet him and escort him to my motor home. He called as promised and arrived on time. He was able to diagnose the problem but did not have the replacement part in stock. However, he was able to actually repair the malfunctioning part (a door switch) and reassemble the appliance. He let me know that if the repair did not work that I could call him back and he would order a replacement switch. His fee for the service call was $55 and he charged an additional $5 for the actual repair. I felt both were very reasonable especially given that our campground is some 10-12 miles outside of Rome. I would certainly use Mr. Pruett again if the need arises. <br />"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Shannon, GA

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
