"Water was seeming into the brinks on our chimney (through the actual brick or cracks in the mortar) and had started leaking into our attic.  The chimney caps that were installed were not fitted or on properly because the part of the chimney that they were supposed to attached to had evidently broken off at some point when a previous owner lived here. <br /> Owens repaired everything and I am pleased with the results.  My only complaint would be that it took them a couple weeks before they could even come by and do the estimate and then a month before they could do the work.  I don't hold it against them though because I'm sure this is peak season and they are in heavy demand. <br />"

"It went well. Jimmy called ahead that day and said he was running behind. He came alone, inspected and cleaned the chimney box and flue. He inspected the cap and showed me pictures indicating that the paint was peeling off the cap and rust spots were forming. Jimmy cleaned up after himself and left no trace that work had been done."

"Race City Roofing was one of three roofing companies that I got estimates from. I am very glad that I gave them the work. <br /> The old roof had three layer of singles (against standards) and a very low pitched roof over a porch. I knew there was some roof decking that would need to be replaced, as well as quite a bit of fascia to be replaced. During estimate walkdown, I pointed out known area that would need more than just re-roofing, so that could be included in estimate. Estimate included complete tear off of old roof to decking, repair of any roofing, soffit & fascia wood, removal & patching of old power vent, new tar paper, 30 year architectural shingles and proper underlayment & shingles for low pitch porch roof. To my surprise, the job was able to be scheduled within a week. <br /> This was a job that I had expected to take at least the better part of two days, but the roofing crew was amazing. They arrived on time & got straight to work. They were very organized & were started to rip off the old roof while I was still doing a brief walkdown with the crew boss. If it hadn't been for a slight miscalculation on the amount of ridge singles, they would have been done in one long day. That was taken care of the next day and they had left nothing unprotected overnight. The crew had found and fixed some additional area as a matter of course. <br /> With remaining shingles, they re-roofed my well pump house and they also painted the vents to match the new seals & collars that were put on. <br /> They had laid down tarps around the house to protect flower beds & to prevent debris from going astray. They were very thorough on cleanup, running a magnetic rake over the area for errant nails. The only sign that they had been at work (besides the new roof & wood work) was the occasional bit plastic film from the old roof that had blown away from the house (few & far between). <br /> In a nutshell, the job came in at estimate (even with some additional work) and I am very impressed with the Race City Roofing crew & would easily recommend them to anyone. <br /> David Accipiter/Elaine Corvidae <br />"
