"Looked for someone to clean my drains outside and saw Grumpy's Drain Service - name drew me in, family owned with photo had me calling. "Our CPVC house piping had a lot of water hammer. After turning on the washing machine, I walked out for a moment, and then when I came back in water was dripping from the ceiling exhaust fan onto the washing machine. We have a two story house and they ran the hot water plumbing from the water heater in the garage through the laundry room ceiling. I removed the exhaust fan and could see water dripping from a tee way back beyond reach. The water hammer from the washer likely caused the fitting to start leaking. I turned the house water supply off and sent a message to Simpson plumbing through Angie's list. A lady from Simpson plumbing contacted me right away the next morning. She was courteous, but was having a hard time understanding what the problem was. Maybe I was giving too much information or something, but when the plumbers arrived later that afternoon they didn't understand what was going on. I ran through what happened again and showed them the wet spot on the ceiling. They had to cut an opening in the ceiling and we turned the water on and confirmed the leak. We moved my washing machine out of their way and they cut out the CPVC tee and replaced it with PEX. The piping was brittle so it took him a couple of attempts to get a straight cut which is why I called them to mess with it. After installing the PEX tee, we were leak free and at my request they provided a reference for the drywall repair. He also advised getting some water hammer arrestors installed on the supply lines to the washing machine to stop the water hammer, which I have since done."

"Charles did a great job again - we used him to renovate two bathrooms 4 1/2 years ago. We called him late in the summer, and he came to the house to discuss what we wanted to do and provided a quote. Given our schedule as well as his, we agreed on an early December timeframe to have the work done, which he estimated would take a week to complete. He left it to us to pick out the appliances on our own and did not include them in the quote and just asked that we send him the specs once we did so he could make sure there would be no issues. He took us to the tile/countertop shop to pick out the quartz and backsplash tile, and to plumbing stores to pick out the sink and faucet. He came with the countertop fabricator a few weeks ahead of the scheduled start date to have the countertop templated so it would be ready prior to starting the job. We delayed the start date by about a week to accommodate both our schedules. The demolition was done in one day as promised, and Charles had one person assisting with the demo, the prepping for the tiling and doing the tiling. Chris was very good, and everything was left clean each day - they used drop cloths from the front door to the kitchen to make sure no dirt was spread though the house. Charles installed most of the appliances when they were delivered, and did great work removing and reinstalling shutters on the windows and making adjustments for a slight change in counter height, as compared to the old countertop. Charles has great attention to detail and makes sure everything looks great. The work took a day or two longer than planned due to an unexpected snowstorm in the middle of the project, so there was a day or two when no one could get out to the house, understandably. Charles is easy to work with and obviously takes pride in making sure the finished product is what you wanted and expect. We would definitely hire Charles again."

"The repair person responded promptly to my call, came when he said he would, came with a mask because of Covid, which I appreciated! He was thorough in diagnosing the problem, knew where to to to get the part he needed and all was done the same day. The bill was reasonable. So all in all I will rehire him when I experience a appliance problem!"

"Peter’s company did a substantial remodel of our kitchen, downstairs bathroom and designed and installed a fireplace and surround about 13 years ago. Most of the work was custom and specific for our house. At the time, we deservedly gave Peter, his crew and subcontractors exemplary reviews. The work and products exceeded our expectations then and now. Thirteen years later, we continue to receive compliments about the work from pretty much everybody that comes to our house for the first time. This week, we called Peter regarding a problem we encountered while trying to replace a dishwasher. One of the cabinet pieces needed to be cut back ¼” to allow the replacement unit to fit. We wanted to know if this was something we could hire Pacific Northwest Cabinets to do and how far out they were scheduled. Peter called back that evening and requested we e-mail photos and a description of what we needed done. First thing the next morning, Peter sent us an email indicating he’d sent out an installer to perform the work we needed and that they’d be there right around 8AM. Seriously, he attended to and solved our issue within 24 hours. We’ve come to learn this is just how Peter does business and treats his customers. I really can’t express how lucky and thankful we remain that we hired Peter and his company to act both as general contractor and to design, build and install all of the cabinetry and related finish carpentry on our remodel. I’ve never really imagined, let alone experienced, the degree of customer service we’ve received from Peter – even 13 years later. We can’t recommend Peter and Pacific Northwest Cabinets highly enough. You’d be remiss not to obtain a bid from Peter Shraner and Pacific Northwest Cabinets for any remodeling or cabinetry work you might be considering. Hands down, they are the finest in the Portland-metro area."

"Advised there would be a hole in the wall that I would need to repair after replacing and installation. Wish I would have known that prior. Not sure if that is my negligence? Had to run to store as did not have all parts to finish. Advised I would get charged for that? Have not seen the bill for it however so maybe they realized it was their issue. All in all it was quick and we have a functional water faucet.
