"The company was ready to go to work, the day after my initial telephone call. The tech telephoned me b4 traveling to the job site to prequalify work to be done. The tech picked up the appliances. Their mfr of choice for water heaters is RHEEM. We requested a Moen kitchen faucet. The water heater was installed in two hours. The kitchen sink faucet in forty-five minutes. The tech and one helper performed the work. The tech was prepared for a worst case scenario as pertains to resolving a leaking outdoor water faucet with a faucet handle performing a 360 degree movement when turning the water on and off. A washer specifically for the faucet handle had disintegrated. The TECH had a "match" for a replacement washer. Tension was restored to faucet handle movement and the leak was stopped. I did not "shop around" for the "best buy" as pertains to performing these services. I picked Ace Plumbing solely because they were remotely checked to be a certified plumber per Angie's List standards. For your reference, and I could be wrong; I estimate Ace Plumbing received "contractor pricing" for the appliances. If I had purchased the aforementioned water heater I believe I would have paid $935.00. Per local code, I had to have a thermal expansion device installed on the water heater. I believe that would have cost me $50.00. The kitchen sink faucet - - $80+. Labor/profit for the contractor I estimate would range from 30-45% of the total bill. I received a consolidated billing/vice price per action on my paper bill. I paid for the services after work was performed with a personal check. I am satisfied with the work performed by this Ace Plumbing team. The team knew their job and were experienced. As with all contractors, if you are ready for the work to be done, they will come."

"After struggling to find a time to coordinate our schedules, the actual fixing was very smooth and efficient. Shane McVay is the master plumber that we use and he is very knowledgable and gets the job done and he does it right. He has done other work for us in the past and has even corrected a job that he noticed was done incorrectly by someone else. He explains the things that he is doing that this housewife can easily understand and told me of things to look for that will clue me in to possible problems with my toilet. Shane is very conscientious and want us to be satisfied customers. I will be using Shane as my plumber because he is trustworthy and knows what he is doing.

Called first on  March 2nd.  Bruce said he would be there within an hour, and he was on time.  Gave me an estimate of 700.00 including the new heater.  told him I would call him back after I checked prices of others.  He was okay with that, so when I was done checking his install price was less than I could buy a quality water heater and install it.

I call him on the 3rd

and he said he would be there in the morning approx. 9am.  At 910am his truck arrived, and they went to work. he removed the busted unit and installed the new one, added a better shutoff valve and ensured everything was to 'code'.  When finished they did a through cleanup of the area,  including taking the old unit with them.  He went over the operation and safety features of the new unit.

workman were efficient, friendly and made the experience a pleasant one.  I would highly recommend them to anyone and most definitely use them again.

"First , I want to truly thank Jason, who is the actual "Affordable Handyman" and his crew Darryl, Ben, Charles, Collin, and Jonathan (I'm sorry if I spelled any names wrong).  I started off by getting bids from several reputable contractors.  Even at $52,000 Jason was the least expensive and did an outstanding job.  We were fortunate enough to be able to use Kohler, Delta and/or  Moen, fixtures, which of course added to the cost rapidly.  Jason recommended the sub contractors (cabinets, granite, seamless shower door, etc.). When they were through with their part I would write a check directly to them.  Jason's costs were labor and materials.  Each week on Friday he brought all receipts for materials to me and I would pay him.  This was for things like caulk, paint, plumbing materials, and door knobs).  He collected his other money in three separate draws, with the last being when the job was completed.  I liked the way he handled this because he knew his reputation was on the line. Jason was excellent at running into town to Home Depot or Lowes to get things that were needed, which was about 20 miles one way. . I think this was partly because that's just how Jason is and partly because he knew my husband and myself are not in the best of health and it would have taken a lot out of us to be running into town all the time. After all, this was what I considered to be a big job as three bathrooms and the kitchen were gutted.  He gave me a timeline of four weeks, but I kept adding things for him to do and so all total was six weeks, which was still pretty amazing.  Also, the cabinet doors were on back order, which held things up.
He guaranteed two men on the job everyday and there were.  If he was running late for any reason, which was not often, he always called. Running a little late was generally because he had to go to Home Depot or Lowes to pick up something needed for my job.  All the guys were very respectful and cleaned up any mess at the end of the day.  I think my garage was cleaner when they left than it was before they got here. All of these guys are hard working, honest ,and want to please.  One thing very important...I trusted all of them.
I see no place on this page to insert photos...so I am going to submit the review and see if I can then insert them (I have inserted photos for other reviews)

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Shiloh, GA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
