"when tech showed up the dryer seemed to be working and heating however it did not when I called, seemed the heating element was cracked creating and off and on working condition. I went ahead to repair the problem by purchasing a new heating element. I was surprised however that the tech expected me to pay in full before he ordered the part and repaired the problem, but I did using my credit card knowing if there was a issue the credit card co. would have my back, The part was order and Alex fixed it as soon as it came in and was great"

"We needed to have our dryer vent cleaned.  Called another company who said they didn't do this service anymore, but recommend SA Specialties.  Called SA Specialties and they got someone out the next day.  Tech arrived right on time.  Checked out the inside, recommended shortening the vent hose, then went up to the roof and cleaned the length of the pipe, finished up inside then cleaned up the shmutz from the cleaning and put the dryer back in place better than new.  Guaranteed his work.  He was professional and courteous.  I highly recommend SA Specialties and will use them again. <br />"

"Better than excellent. They saved the day by adding us to their already full job list and came the same day I called. The plumbers came in, explained what there were going to do, found the leak and fixed it. Incredibly thankful for the great service."

"After calling several plumbing service providers about replacing a busted downstream ball valve for my backflow preventer piping on my sprinkler system, I finally spoke to Ronnie – owner, Texas Master Plumber (TMP) – about a call out for repairs. Unlike the people I spoke to earlier, Ronnie stated he did not charge for service calls. Other plumbers charged between $50 to $175 to simply come out and evaluate the problem and solution. Alton was waiting for me when I arrived at my home from work. Alton took a few minutes to assess the problem and mentioned it should take him about 30 minutes to replace all the backflow preventer piping not just the cracked downstream valve. Alton was wrong. He completed the replacement in about 20 minutes. Alton – at no additional charge – installed a brace clamp to secure the piping to my brick exterior. Alton also educated me on the proper procedure to make certain during freeze situations this situation would be repeated. About 3 weeks after this service call, I called Ronnie again to arrange repairs for my aunt’s toilet. I surmised her toilet was not flushing due to a faulty flush valve. My aunt had 2 plumbers come out previously that did not solve the problem, but offered to further investigate the problem for more money. TMP employee Cory solved the problem in a little over an hour. Texas Master Plumber is a no BS and professional organization. Hey, they must make a profit to survive. But I do not believe overcharging and sub par workmanship is a common and accepted practice in this company. I hope to have the same positive interactions with this company in the future."

"The owner, Bill, came out to my retail strip building to repair a leaking hose bib. The hose bib is a special kind that is recessed in the wall and required a square key to open and turn on. These are typical on commercial buildings. Since this was not a standard hose bib like one found on a house, the repair parts would need to be ordered and were quite expensive. I elected to just cap the water line to the hose bib inside the building. Bill came back on a Saturday to perform the repair. The work went as planned and I have no complaints. The cost was $346. I wish it were less expensive but this was one of my less expensive plumbing repairs so I can't complain. I will use Bill again when I need him."

"Experienced a blocked sewer line on a Sunday night that caused 1 shower and 2 toilets to back up. Blockage was diagnosed to be about the middle of the house as kitchen + laundry room + 2 bathrooms downstream of the blockage continued to drain OK. The initial company I called diagnosed the blockage as a broken sewer line beneath the house with a $55,000 estimate to repair by trenching under the house and replacing the line (they were reluctant to run a clean-out tool first). Called Abacus for a second opinion; tech was able to come out the same day. The blockage was confirmed to be in the same location as the original company found, but the tech could not confirm a broken pipe. Arranged for Abacus to come out the next day to attempt to clear the blockage and verify the condition of the sewer line by camera. Blockage was cleared - took 2 passes. Camera runs confirmed some low spots in sewer pipe, but no broken line. Worked involve removing 1 toilet to run the tool to clear the line, and to pull and re-seat a 2nd toilet due to blown wax seal. Overall job took about 5 hours with two technicians (Brett and Rick). The techs were punctual, friendly, knowledgeable (took time to explain and answer questions), professional, and they left no mess. Its only been 2 days since the repair, but so far, so good."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Simonton, TX

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
