"HORRIBLE CONTRACTORS!!! I have had contractors before and experienced some issues but this Anthony guy is very unprofessional and he is an absolutely nightmare! Not a single item was completed from the contract he and I agreed on and he took 60% of the contract amount and he stopped working the property. I had a property with some cosmetic work stuff and repairs which shouldn’t be that complicated. After he toured the property and gave me estimated time frame for 2 weeks. I know normally how it is not done with contractors so I asked him a few more times and confirmed if he could really finish it in two weeks. He was confident and said two weeks for no problem. After it has been almost 4 weeks, not even a quarter of work has been done and I noticed he didn’t even show up. He has so many excuses and complaints every single time when I contacted him. It felt like he was working for free which was not true. We agreed on 3 installment payments, 1st installment, before the job start about 30% of the total price, and 2nd one, 1/3 of the total price, and the last one at the completion of the job. After 2 weeks of work and not much of work has been done, he already requested for the 2nd installment. I asked him, the work has not been done 2/3 of the job, more over not even half way done. Anyway, he got upset and he wouldn’t continue the job if I didn’t pay. So I paid and then BOOM! He didn’t show up at work and when I asked him, his answer was it is too cold to work at the property. He made excuses and excuses and he said he will only come back if the heater is fixed. I did and texted him and called him. NO RESPONSE. Besides, his quality of work is horrible. He and his crew painted all over, light fixtures, light bulbs, floors, even bathtub. What kind of painter paint over the tub?! They simply didn’t even covered the parts not supposed to paint but they were so lazy and sloppy worker. They installed the brand new room doors, two out of three, didn’t even close properly and didn’t even use the shim. Installing the door is one of the basic carpentry job and he can’t even do that! I asked for the breakdown of the work and cost and no answer. When I confronted him for a few stuff, he just blah blah blah and repeating himself by making endless nonsense and not doing the job at all. Even if he does a job, not a good quality one."

"From bad to worst. Nearly two months after signing a contract with owner Steve and Seasonal Solutions, there was no solution or resolution. I signed a contract to pay $240 to "open" (plus $60 to vacuum) my pool. Two weeks later they took the cover off my pool, and discovered the water green with algae from an exceptionally wet and warm spring. They said, and I understood and accepted, that it would take more than one vacuuming and dumping in of chlorine and algaecide to clean and clear the pool. Only two weeks after a few more failed service calls to clear and open the pool did they see an tell me that the old pool filter was not filtering, and that I needed to replace the paper filters (for <$700) or replace the old filter with a new sand filter (for $800), which I agreed to and they did, quickly do (for $900+). The new sand filter was a good call and is working fine. But then, after many return (only when and after I called their "scheduler" for more) unsuccessful "service" calls, they sent me an outrageous additional "bill" a month later for $390, including 3 more vacuumings (for another $180), which were not done (they did one ineffective partial removal (by a small inadequate vacuum), and a second partial sweep (by their bigger vacuum), removing only some streaks of the algae on the bottom of the shallow end of the pool, plus $210 they charged me for chemicals and other inadequate "services," leaving most of the pool bottom still algae covered, and the water was not clear for human entry. I put a stop payment on my credit card, but Discover charged me anyway, despite the services not rendered and the 'solutions" not reached. I warn you to not sign a contract with or give your credit card to "Unreasonable Solutions." They baited, hooked, switched and took me for exorbitant changes for chemicals and "services" that were not effective and not done. Since I pulled the plug on the Seasonal Solutions drain, I finally found a responsive, accessible reliable and reliable service, Coastline Pool Services, who came the day after I called them, and had my pool vacuumed, cleaned, algae free and true blue for me to clearly and refreshingly swim out the summer."

Start by balancing style, budget, and the statement you want to make. The “best” tile is the one that looks great, lasts, and fits your price point. If funds are tight, consider splurging on a small accent band in a premium material and using economical options elsewhere. Ceramic and porcelain offer the best mix of durability and cost, while glass delivers a high-end sparkle—just expect to pay more for the wow factor.
Your pool can be finished with materials other than tile to achieve a fresh look. Alternative finishes such as plaster and aggregate offer distinct benefits: plaster provides a modern, cost-effective finish that may require more frequent upkeep, while aggregate finishes deliver superior texture, durability, and enhanced safety. These options allow you to choose a look that best complements your pool design and lifestyle.
Tile life span comes down to material, installation quality, and how well you keep up with maintenance. Most pool tiles hold up for 10 to 20 years, but top-tier ceramic or porcelain can stick around for decades—sometimes close to 100 years—if you stay on top of cleaning, water chemistry, and routine upkeep. This regular care keeps colors vibrant and prevents costly repairs.
Retiling your pool opens the opportunity to improve other related areas of your outdoor space. When you re-tile, you can simultaneously address projects such as replacing the vinyl liner, repairing structural cracks, or upgrading your pool heater. Coordinating these improvements not only streamlines the renovation process but also enhances the pool’s overall functionality and appearance, adding lasting value to your home.
Maintaining your pool properly is essential to keeping your tiles in excellent condition. Your pool tiles remain durable and visually appealing when regular cleaning, balanced chemicals, and effective water circulation are maintained. In addition, weekly cleaning, prompt removal of deposits, and periodic resealing of grout not only preserve tile strength and color but also safeguard the overall pool safety for you and your guests.
