"Paul, the owner, was terrific. I needed to replace a rotting wooden rear entry door with a new ThermaTru fiberglass door. I also wanted to add a storm door to the same entry. Paul came over and inspected the site and we ordered both doors in late December of 2021. The doors arrived several months later and Paul came out for the installation. He was great. He was clearly a meticulous and experienced professional who knew his stuff perfectly. After several hours he had completed the installation of both doors. They look and work great. Paul also cleaned up the interior and exterior areas where he worked and everything was immaculate after he left. Can't of better than Washington Door Service,"

"Para Services is a dream come true for my aging husband and me - with their help, we can now hope to spend the next decade in our own home instead of moving to a retirement community. For our first visit, two highly competent (and personable) technicians showed up and spent the day reviewing everything in our house that could possibly need maintenance or repair. We were astonished by how much they got done. For example, one of them even climbed onto the roof where they found and nailed down some loose shingles. They cleaned the dryer vent (something we’ve never had done before), re-caulked some sections of the bathroom tiles, repaired loose door handles, checked the fire extinguishers, and the list goes on and on. I was especially pleased that they replaced all the burnt-out overhead light bulbs, so now my husband won't have to climb onto a tall ladder. We really look forward to working with Para in the years ahead."

Customers say: Quick response

"Awesome finish work to our tiny remote cabin! Ryan and crew installed our LVP flooring in just a few hours. He kept us up to date on the project with text and pictures, super helpful since we live in Seattle and had to work. His crew kept the construction site clean and the vendor he used for our cedar interior work was meticulous. Thanks Ryan!"

"The estimate and information we received were fair, prompt, and informative. Russ King did a great job in the estimates, and recommendations of the best windows and method of installation for our needs. Terry White was efficient and professional in the follow-up detailed measurements, which made for a fine fit of the windows. The replacement was done well. The installers were efficient and conscientious. They were mindful of details, and how the windows would look once they were installed. The installers did a good job of cleaning up."

"We bought the deal for patio sliding door replacement  and couldn't be happier. Everything went smoothly from start to end, no surprises.  Bill showed up on time, installed the new door with great attention to detail, addressed all my concerned and left the spot in ideal condition. It's been almost 6 moths since we have the new door and we love it.  Planning to hire them again for entry door replacement.  Would definitely recommend Ethos to anyone looking for a door installation/replacement.

"When the tech came to install on Oct. 9, it turned out that the wrong size door had been ordered. So he left and our installation date moved to Nov. 18. Vasiliy came and did a good job installing the new garage door. The only beef I have is that the sales rep, Mike, did the math wrong on our sales contract. He missed adding the door opener so the overall quote was $400 less than it should have been. Learning experience for me: check the math! Argh!"

"1 We needed to replace the floor tiles. Adrian and his crew brought us tile samples and we chose one to use on the floor. The nature of tile work requires several visits to the house and then wait for something to dry so it takes several days to complete. Then they finished, the tile was beautiful but there was ugly round drain. This was the drain we previously had but it looked ugly in this tile. I bought a square drain and when they finished a second job we had, they took out the cut tiles and put in the square drain and now it looks perfect. 2. This was a more complicated job as they had to remove the old tile and tub and then but up and seal hardy board in its place, install the tub with new plumbing, and put in new tile. They suggested that we raise the shower head as the previous instillation did not have tile to the ceiling. We also needed new fixtures for the new tub. Adrian arranged for his brother, the plumber, to install the plumbing and then come back and put in the fixtures after the tile was done. We went out and bought 12x12 tile for this project and they suggested ways to mount the tile to make it more interesting. I was only thinking of tile stacked with all grout lines matching up. Adrian suggested we might want the tiles staggered. We tried this out with the tile on the floor and it was a much prettier arrangement of the tiles. While looking at tiling patterns on the web we saw niches in the tile to put shower items. So, after they started with the hardy board, we asked it they could do a niche and they agreed. The instillation was slow as it went on for about two weeks as that is the nature of the project. The shower/tub is beautiful and exceeds my expectations. The only small quibble I have is that they said they would come at certain times and sometimes did not come at that time and one case not until two days later. But this was not a regular occurrence. Most times they called if they were going to be late. Truthfully, if it had not been such a long project being late would not have been a problem as we are retired. But in this case, we felt a little housebound."

"We initially contacted Attila Musci at Cascade Window and Glass about replacing the glass in the slider window (both movable and stationary parts) above our kitchen sink in early December 2015. This was being done because we were remodeling our kitchen, i.e. replacing countertops and flooring. Based on our approximate measurements we received a quote and decided to go ahead with the project. While meeting with the tech designer for our kitchen remodel we discovered that once the new countertops were in place we would not be able to remove the kitchen window, so the window repair would need to be done before the countertop installation. This didn't seem to be a problem because we were told that the project probably wouldn't start for several months. When we found out that the project would begin much sooner than expected (to our delight!) , i.e. in the middle of January, we needed to move up the appointment date for Attila to measure the windows. When he came out he discovered that he couldn't remove the windows with the existing faucet in place, so we needed to coordinate the removal of the window glass with the demolition crew removing the old countertops and kitchen fixtures. After many phone calls everything was approved, and the date and time were set for Attila to remove the old window glass, put the new glass in the existing frames, and reinstall the windows -- with a very quick turn-around so as not to delay the demolition crew. Attila was great to work with -- he was willing to change and adapt his schedule as needed to accommodate the timeline for our kitchen remodel. He is very professional and really knows his business. This is the second time that we've worked with him, and will continue to do so as the need arises."

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Snoqualmie, WA

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
