"We hired McCormick for a bathroom remodel, and the whole process was smooth and professional. Khaled helped us make smart choices on design and materials that worked for both our budget and style. Now, our bathroom feels like a spa every time we step in. I appreciate the quality and attention to detail. These folks definitely know what they?re doing!"

"They were pretty good. I'm thinking of getting that one. The problem is we live in a homeowner's association and I didn't submit the bid in the day even though the contractor came out and told me that they did install patio covers in here. I talked to the property manager; he's in charge of the homeowner's association. He said he doesn't think they'll put a patio wood cover, aluminum wood cover in here but even though I think I've seen them. But I might try to do it again, and we're in the process of getting pavers in and we're running into a problem because we've got a gas line that we have to ... that's underneath the gas line from the house, and we've got to figure out what that is, and then we're going to put an oven out there so we've got to figure out how to get a plumber to install the sink line to the sewer, and then we have to figure out where to put it. I didn't have them do anything yet. They gave me a price of about $8000. I thought it'd be more. They came out right away. I was talking to the owner beforehand. I asked him if he would do a wood cover because I'd seen what we could get and he said they don't do wood covers because he takes a lot of wood covers down. He said the aluminum wood is better. I agree, he convinced me, but I don't know that the homeowner's association would go for it. It'd probably be better because we had a lattice at another place and we had not termites, but we had rot, wood rot on the bottom of it we had to get fixed.. They came out when they said they were going to come out. The owner didn't come out; somebody else came out. I would tell a friend to give them a call, but I would tell them that if you live in a homeowner's association you have to check with the board, because we didn't submit it yet because what happens is it's like a catch-22. When you submit it you have to do it within a few months or six months or something like that, so we don't know if we're going to do that and then if they said ok ...but what happens is that ... and then we're going to do pavers. We have just enough money to do one thing at a time, once this year. And what happens is we have wood patio covers we want to match ... we have a tile roof and we'll want to match that and that's like $20,000."

"I found Patio Warehouse on AngiesList and Yelp and decided to go with them based on all of the good reviews. I am happy to write another good review for them. Our project ended up being much more difficult than originally anticipated, but the people at Patio Warehouse worked hard to get everything done - even when it required a lot of extra work on their part. They went above and beyond to make us happy. Compared to a lot of projects they do, ours was pretty small and we really appreciated their time, effort and commitment to our project. I'm sure many other companies would have pulled out after the first speed bump (and there were many), but they did not and they never treated us as if we were an inconvenience (even though we definitely were!). I would highly recommend them to anyone."

"I’ve been through my share of remodels and almost all the experiences took more time, more money...you know the story. And then my mother’s condo had water damage, which was uninhabitable. Despite solid insurance, the moment the tests came back positive for mold and sewage, we knew this was going to be a complete move out, demo and remodel. I had 5 bids come back and chose Jacob with 4 Season Remodeling & design. He and his team are my heroes. Open communication, direct eye contact, honest opinions, quick problem solving, and most of all, they took care of us when COVID hit and the building shut down to all contractors. Even though we had weeks left on our schedule to get the job done, I could have the Board give us 5 days so that my mother could move back in and they made it happen with no changes to the original renderings. Jacob’s communication was impeccable, with immediate responses to every question and request. The craftsmanship is PERFECTION! Thank you, Jacob!!!"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Somis, CA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
