We had a "complicated" set of circumstances when our home was damaged by a storm, last winter. The insurance company sent out an estimator to assess the damage and, after the company recommended J & K Home Improvement & Restoration, I was introduced to John Lee. I eventually learned that John also does estimates for a variety of insurance companies (because his company is so well regarded), and he patiently listened as I described the nuances associated with our house. During our initial consultation, he was able to clearly describe all of the steps that would be necessary and answer all of our questions. Long story short, not only was John able to address EVERY single concern and request that we had regarding the eventual repairs to the house (including roof, siding, and a window upgrade that would have cost much more if we had done it at a later time), but he spent plenty of extra time making sure that everything we had talked about was addressed to our 100% satisfaction! He was also able to persuade the insurance company to cover more complete repairs than was originally specified by the first adjuster! In addition, when we had an electrical "hiccup" associated with all the pounding on the walls, John quickly sent an expert electrician to locate and correct the problem. He absolutely could have passed those charges on to us because the failure wasn't due to any mistake on the part of his crew but, instead, he picked up the unanticipated expense himself. It was truly a pleasure to work with John! "January 22, 2020 Wow! Got a new roof & gutters plus my garage door repaired all for free, thanks to Jeremy, the owner of Top A1 Contracting! Never even thought I needed a new roof nor could I afford one. But Jeremy met with State Farm during the roof inspection at my house, and State Farm saw hail damage from last June, 2019, and decided to pay for everything! New roof & gutters!! "New installation went well. I was a little upset that only 50% was covered being that the unit was 19 years old. I'm sure that parts for something that old would be hard to find. Replacement was recommended."

"I purchased a big deal from Angie's List and their services turned out fine. They were a little late. I gave the fellow a little bit of a leeway and he took a little bit more leeway than I would have preferred.  In fact, I was getting ready to give him a call and he sent the crew over, and they did the job. I just paid them the flat amount; they did not try to pressure me with any add-ons or anything like that, which was fine. I was actually wondering if they were going to do something like that, but they did not. So that was certainly a nice thing. They did what they said they were going to do. They were acting like they were in a big hurry. They were two guys and they worked as a team, and they were gone in, I think, like about an hour or something like that. It was like at least a week, if not two weeks, before they actually did come back and as I said I had been getting ready to call them in trying to find out what was going on when they finally did show up. I thought they would call in advance which they did not, so I was a little bit disappointed about that. I did not see them doing anything what I would call sloppily; they were kind of in a hurry. I did ask a question and they did do some certain tertiary types of things, like part of a gutter guard had fallen off and they did put it back on, which I had requested so that was fine."
