I am pleased to say that I've finally found a plumber that I would not only use again, but recommend. He asked multiple questions so that he could give me a real price, not a price that gets him in the door that he could then upcharge. Nathan was on time, he had booties for his feet. When I needed something additional, he told me and explained why without being condescending. He did great, neat work for a fair price and also did a great job on the clean up. "<strong>Christmas Eve morning</strong> <strong>at 10 a.m. our kitchen sinks completely stopped draining.</strong>  Home remedies (snake and plunger) did absolutely nothing.  Called our regular plumber but they were totally booked; they recommended Northern Illinois Sewer Service.  Called No. Ill. and was told he would be here within the hour, which he was.  Within 30  minutes he had the blocked line opened and the drains flowing well.  Timely, professional and knows his business.  And, the rate was very reasonable considering it was same day service and was Christmas Eve.  We recommend No. Ill. "I 'm sure the plumber did a fairly good job. But I didn't like his tone. Todd wasn't the friendliest plumber I've seen. Even if a plumber is not hired for his communication skills, still, it can make a difference, and make you want to call in the future. In my case, based on this experience, I won't call Roto-Rooter again. <br />  I'm always apprehensive to call a professional, not because how bad the problem can be (well a little to be honest), but what kind of person will I have to deal with. I've been a homeowner for nearly a decade, and I have dealt with different contractors in the past.  Personally, I prefer to deal with one with  pleasant communication skills. Even if it's plumber, he or she can still have a way to present the problem to the customer. The attitude saying" Well if something bad happens, it's your fault!" or  "Since you didn't choose to do the right way to fix the problem,  well, I hope for you there won't be any further problems!"  That attitude needs to go! I don't like to be treated that way. That's all. <br /> Reading other reviews, it seems Roto-Rooter is a good and reliable company. Unfortunately with competition, it only takes one bad experience to take your business somewhere else. I won't have the guarantee that it's better, but thanks to Angie's List, I can, at least, express my opinion.  <br />"

"Our sump pump was running almost continuously for weeks, and listening closely by the water meter we knew that the main water line coming from the city was leaking. We got proposals from more than one contractor and selected Pearson because I liked their confidence and their proposed solution of how they would install a new main water line. They were a bit higher in price than others but I went with them. They did an outstanding job, with minimal excavation near the street, and zero mess with our landscaping as well as inside our home where the line meets the meter. The workers were professional, courteous and efficient. Our water was only turned off for under 3 hours, and the entire job including back fill of the excavation was about four and a half hours. I will absolutely be using Pearson for any and all plumbing issues in the future."

"The Technician was on time and very courteous. All the necessary equipment and parts were on the truck. The job was done in quick fashion and the basement was nice and clean after the job was finished. The new sump pump does not have one of those floating balls that get caught between the pump and the well wall. The back up pump was installed in the well which made for a nice and clean look. The PVC pipe was installed nice and solid so it did not move around when the water flows through it. The Technician was very knowledgeable about his job and understood our requirements. Everything went smoothly. I was very happy with the finished look. I would recommend them to anyone. The Technician treated us with respect and kindness."

"I called for an appointment on Monday 6/13, and because we were having some plumbing work done that was urgent that required the septic tank to be empty, I was given an appointment for the next day, today.
