"We recently hired Shea Roofing to install a new roof on our house and garage, including the removal of two chimneys. On day one, company owner Bill Shea surveyed the project and gave us a full explanation of what needed to be done. He left us with a wide variety of shingle samples to help us with the decision process. After providing what we considered was a reasonable quote, the work began shortly thereafter. Everything moved along quickly and the work was well executed on every level. His hard-working team of three roofers worked together efficiently and in a professional manner. We greatly appreciated that they took the extra time needed to finish the job they set out to do each day, after which they fully cleaned the area and organized their equipment so it was out of our way. The new roof was then tested the following week by torrential downpours and thanks to their fine workmanship our previous roof leaking issues were solved! We highly recommend Shea Roofing for all of your roofing needs!"

I was in constant contact with various personnel who kept me informed about the project. On installation day, the crew of 8 roofers began work at 7:30am and finished at 2:30pm. "Mike from MGS responded immediately to my request from Angi for a roofing contractor. He came for an estimate the following day. He gave us a price that was half of another competitor - plus replacing a large skylight. The price included the permit and dumpster. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all our questions - and we didn't have to sit through a two-hour sales pitch. All materials were top quality and installed above standard practice. This was in December and we were concerned about the weather and short daylight. Mike assured us they should have the job done in a day, barring some unexpected repairs to the roof. Their crew came a week later. Crew leader Rick was fantastic.They stripped two layers of ashphalt shingles off the house, breezeway and garage, replaced the skylight, and were done in about seven hours. This included replacing the lead flashing around the chimney and building a cricket above it to divert the water..Amazing! They spent about another hour thouroughly cleaning up all the debris around the property, including scouring for nails with a large rolling magnet. The dumpster was picked up two days later. Except for the great looking new roof, the property looks like like they were never here. We had three days of rain starting a few hours after they left, and the house is completely dry. This was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had dealing with a contractor. From start to finish, everyone has been friendly, respectful and professional. Mike was in constant contact with us throughout the process and responded immediately if I had.question. I highly recommend MGS for any roofing job."

"This is a follow-up to my original review written on 8 October 2019. I do not know how to edit/delete my original review on Home Advisor so this is the best I can do. On 23 October I was contacted by phone by Alan and John who are project managers at United Home Experts. They had just read my 8 Oct review and wanted to speak with me about how my issues could be addressed. They apologized for the time delay (which resulted when the incorrect siding was received) and for not replacing the rotted plywood sheathing. In addition to the originally- agreed-upon $300 lowering of the project cost they added $250 to that amount. My credit card was credited with $550 on 25 Oct. I have increased my rating from 3 starts to 5 stars since I am now very impressed by their desire to do whatever they must in order to maintain their historical good reputation. But as I stated in my original review, I still strongly suggest that the homeowner try to be home while the work is being done so as to catch any errors/problems before they occur. But then this is a good suggestion with any contractor, not just United."
