"I needed some acoustic ceiling samples tested for asbestos prior to removing it. I followed the instructions provided by their website and collected 5 samples. I mailed away the samples USPS express along with a check. I got the results the very next day at about 3 pm. Amazingly fast service. They give you a detailed report. I would definitely suggest them to friends and family."

"This company is fantastic. We found them on Angie's List and everything we read was true. Our 2 year old daughter is highly allergic to everything and we wanted to rule out mold. John wouldn't do more than was necessary and explained everything you've ever wanted to know about mold in detail. He also talked me through the report so I could share the findings with our allergist. I was really nervous about how much it all would cost, but luckily nothing was found."

"Everything went very smoothly. John came out and gave us the estimate. They were able to start right away thanks to a last minute schedule opening. I paid the BAAQMD fee over the phone with a credit card and the job was scheduled. I met Omar, the project leader, on site at 8:30am the next morning and gave him keys. They finished about 2pm the next day, and called us to come inspect the site and pay the balance. They did a great job, the ceilings are nice and smooth, with no holes or damage, which we'd heard can be inevitable with popcorn removal. They cleaned up everything when they were done (in fact, the house was much cleaner than before they got there.)"

"Rubal Daniel the Project Manager was compassionate and he set up the whole clean up process and ensured that his crew does a good job. He even followed it up on the day of abatement as well as post abatement about the work done."

"Excellent company! Very easy going in scheduling and doing the job AS SUPPOSED TO BE! They recommended a company for the drywall after the asbestos were removed. However, we said we will shop around. They were fine with the idea. We did go with the company that they recommended, though Synergy workers were punctual, professional, and on task. They have a supervisor who came twice to check on the work performed and the person who verified that no asbestos was present before we would come into the house. We did not do the whole house; definitely we will contract them when we need to do the rest. Everything as should be!"

"The company analyzed the heater and found a nonworking circuit board. The heater is a discontinued unit and it is hard to get replacement parts. Annuzzi called a supplier and found a replacement board available in Las Vegas. He had it expressed out and installed it after work hours on New Years Eve at no extra charge. Unit is performing like it should. As he was the only company called (emergency situation and recommended on Angie's List), I can't verify if the price is economical or not. I was satisfied with the price but gave the company a B rating because of the lack of competition. I would and have recommended Annuzzi for heating services."

"I’m extremely satisfied with their service! We hired them to do the clearing and installing for the new insulation in my attic a few months ago. It was very easy to set up an appointment over the phone. Adam, the owner, was very helpful every step of the way. They worked super fast to help install the insulation and disposed of the previous one. Great job and thank you guys!"

"Overall, they did a good job. They are friendly and very helpful. we had a little mess to clean up after, but to be fair, I didn't complain -- if i had they would have come back. Preferably they would have come back to check on their own."

"I had recently had my home inspected and was concerned about mold and what to do about it. I called Mr Standish because I had just used him for my home inspection, and he was again able to do the mold testing right away, and got back the results to me within a few days. It was helpful to have him answer questions about the test results, and the problem was minor, and something that did not require any major work(thank goodness!)Mr Standish is very knowledgeable about his work, and is honest, which I truely appreciate."

FAQs for asbestos abatement projects in South San Francisco, CA

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring mineral fibers once commonly used in building materials because of their resistance to heat, electricity, and corrosion. However, in 1975, research confirmed that these fibers cause mesothelioma and other cancers, leading to strict usage laws. If your home contains asbestos, removing it can prevent long-term health effects. You'll often find asbestos in the flooring, ceilings, pipes, and roofing of homes built before the 1990s. Common asbestos-containing materials include vermiculite insulation, vinyl flooring, millboard, and corrugated roofing. If you suspect you have asbestos or any of these materials in your home, it's important to hire a reputable abatement company to perform testing.

Currently, there is no federal licensing mandate for asbestos removal contractors. However, certain cities and states require certification and specialized training. For example, in some areas, contractors handling asbestos must receive an Asbestos Handler Certification. Be sure to check your local laws to ensure any contractor you hire meets the necessary requirements.

Homes constructed before the 1990s can conceal asbestos within building materials, and testing provides a definitive answer. You should have your home tested by a certified asbestos inspection service. This professional evaluation identifies hazardous materials and determines whether removal or encapsulation is necessary. Testing safeguards your family’s health and supports smart budgeting for remediation.

Federal law does not require you to disclose the presence of asbestos when selling your home. However, certain states and local jurisdictions impose disclosure regulations that you must follow. Testing and professional remediation confirm that hazardous materials are properly managed. This proactive approach not only meets legal requirements but also protects your property’s value and buyer health.

Asbestos removal affects a home’s resale value because hazardous materials can deter potential buyers. Having toxic substances present lowers buyer confidence and may reduce the property’s value by 1% to 15% if not addressed. Professional remediation ensures safety standards are met and preserves marketability, protecting your long-term investment.

Grants exist at both federal and state levels to support asbestos testing and removal projects. Local housing programs may also offer financial assistance when asbestos is discovered during home repairs. Meeting certification and testing standards is required to secure these funds, which help to manage overall project costs while ensuring safe remediation.
