"Extremely satisfied. Jimmy Pegram cleaned carpets today in my lower level quickly and perfectly. Also stretched my living room carpet. He did a great job. Appreciated that his equipment was portable (no long hoses ticking out of the front door) He was punctual, professional and very reasonable. Definitely recommend him."

"Michael showed up on a days notice, on the weekend and did an excellent job when I needed carpet removed from a hardwood floor that had been covered for 55 years. He was straight up, right-priced and gave good advice, and he is a gentleman too."

"The guys ran into a snag because of limitation of a service @ hardware store. They came up with a solution that worked as well if not better than original plan. I would recommend them for any task."

"Forest came and gave me an estimate. He was super friendly and very quick in sending me a formal estimate.
There were two men that came and removed the tile and cut/laid the new hardwood. They were very friendly and worked quickly-but they left a mess. There was lots of dust and busted up tile left throughout the downstairs living space.
I gave this company an overall rating of A despite this-largely due to the two men that came next and did the sanding, buffing and refinishing. Their names were Jeremiah and Justin and they felt like family before they left. They worked so hard, not even leaving for lunch. They ate in their truck. They were very professional, informative and even played with my kids. They called all 3 mornings to let me know they were on their way so I would know exactly when to expect them. They explained the job in detail, what to expect on each step and day of the process. Jeremiah even repaired some trim that was damaged from the previous owner(in no part due to the work they were doing). I was overwhelmed with the 20 stain choices for the floors. They were patient and experienced in helping me narrow it down. They put several samples on the floor to allow me to choose. I cannot say enough good things about these men.  I would highly recommend them for any job.

UPDATE:
Earlier this year I had the front door replaced. Due to this work, some of the trim and a small part of hardwood was scuffed/replaced. I called Carpet Spectrum to find out the name of the stain so the door man could repair. I was told that they had no idea what color stain was used. The blame was placed on the worker who was no longer employed there. I know this may be nit-picky, but I was greatly disappointed by the customer service which was so impressive on my initial dealing with them. There was no offer to come look or try and guess/match the stain. Just "oh well, sorry".
Whoever you use for any work, I would encourage you to ask questions and keep your own records. I had no idea I would not be able to obtain this info later.

"Our family has used Alex for carpet, backsplash in the kitchen and hardwood floor throughout our house. Him and his team were very considerate when it came to prepping the areas they’d be working in. Everything looks great and they worked very hard and got the jobs done in timely manners. They did a good job protecting our kitchen counters and floors from the tile backsplash demo. They also did a really good job cleaning up everything when they were done. Reasonably priced for great work."

"It went well. Ron showed up on time to give an estimate. The following week, he and his crew got to work. He even put the cat up (so that she wouldn't get out) when I wasn't able to do so. There were a few places that I've asked that the crew go back over, i.e., cutting in lines aren't straight. But Ron had no problem with that and has said several times that he wants to make sure that I'm happy. The paint job that was done in my dining room was totally his idea, stripes with the same color only different finishes, flat and high gloss. It looks GREAT!!!"

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Southaven, MS

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
