Small jobs welcome

"I couldn’t be more impressed with the service I received. From the moment I called, the team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. They arrived right on time, diagnosed the issue quickly, and took the time to explain the repair process clearly. The quality of the workmanship is top-tier. They were efficient, tidy, and made sure everything was functioning perfectly before heading out. It’s rare to find a service provider that balances technical expertise with such great customer care. If you’re looking for a reliable, honest, and skilled plumbing team, I highly recommend giving them a call!"

"Really well. When I called for the appointment the woman who answered the phone was pleasant and helpful and got me an appointment the next day. One of the pipes installed during renovation less than a year ago was too short. Graham and Calvin repaired that and snaked out the pipes removing a clog from years ago in the older pipes. They left everything as clean as when they began. They were on time, courteous, and knowledgeable. They emailed me their pictures when they were on their way so that I would know who they were when they arrived. If I need help with a plumbing problem again, I will definitely call on them again."

"Aaron and his team worked on waterproofing our basement in Jan 2019. We had issue of water leaking into our basement and were looking for contractors to get it fixed. We read about Aaron through Angie’s list and contacted him. He came over to our house to take a look at the issue and provide estimates for the work. He explained everything really well and went over the potential solution (Interior French drain) in detail. His quote was reasonable as well. Once we decided to go ahead with his company, the next steps were smooth as well. The job itself was done very well. Aaron’s team was very professional. The part that we really liked is Aaron himself is present at the job, leading the work. He set the expectations right and did not promise things he could not deliver. He made it clear at the start that he might not be able to get the sump pump drainage pipe linked to our outside drain at this point due to the weather (it was too cold that week) and that he will do it for us in Spring. However, he did make sure that the pipe was extended a fair distance away from the house. Along with this work, Aaron provided us some good insights into some of the other work we want to get done around the house. Thanks Aaron for your professional work. We will definitely recommend/hire Aaron and his team in future, if needed."

"We recently renovated our bathroom and contacted Tom Fox based on Angie's List.  We have owned several homes over the past 25 years and have undergone extensive renovation on most.  That being said, Tom Fox tops all.  Upon contact his voice message will invite you to leave a message and that he returns phone calls in the evening.  Yes, he did.  We set up an installation date, which he adhered to.  Upon inspection, the 50 year old toilet drain pipe showed wear and leakage.  It was repaired with minimal invasiveness, as were the worn pipes for the sinks.  This was no "upsell" by Tom.  It was obviously necessary and professionally repaired.  Tom solicited our input on the placement of the shower head, hand held wash and diverter controls.  It was clear, Tom understood this was going to be "our" bathroom.  He understood the issues, even if we didn't at the time.  All was neatly and beautifully installed.  Immediately one of the sinks leaked underneath.  After two re-visits, it was determined that the flow valve was defective.  We ordered new parts from Kohler and Tom installed it.  Due to this defective part, Tom returned to our house no less than three times.  No balking, no push back, no complaints, no delay.  Oh yes, and at at some point in between, he called on his own to find out the status of the part order.  What else is there to say?  If you want a bargain call a handyman.  If you want it done right with peace of mind, call Tom.  Tom is what you hope every contractor would be. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Sparta, NJ

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
