"The work was fine, at least so far! We hired them to repair cracks in the foundation, and the estimator thought that there were three cracks. When the person showed up to do the work, he only found (and repaired) two cracks. It took several months for them to adjust their bill, which is my only complaint. It took several phone calls and emails, and they didn't reduce the bill very much."

"We’ve had a lot of crews in our home for various projects over the years, and I have to say this was one of the most courteous. They worked hard, navigating through our kitchen to access the basement and I really appreciated their efforts. Thank you MTU, we now have safe walls in our cellar and fresh beams to keep the house standing ;)"

"I had Premier Basement come out to encapsulate my crawlspace. I have seen their work before since my parents used their services for the exact same reason. I wanted a warmer floor which required something to be done with the crawlspace under my house. Scheduling was easy, Steve came out and inspected the space and we walked through what would need to be done. I filled out the required paperwork and away we went. We had to reschedule a few times but communication was always open. The gals in the office are on the ball. Art and his coworker (forgot his name) came out and got the job done in a day. They did have to come back another day because one of the vent covers broke and they had no spares in the truck. Not a big deal, we scheduled it and got it on in about a 2 week time frame. I am very happy with the work. I guess they actually do egress windows, which I will be calling them to do as soon as we move forward with finishing our basement."

"We moved into a new house less than a week before Christmas. We really wanted to have a cozy fire on Christmas Day but we knew from our home inspection that the chimney needed some attention. We called Mr. Chimney hoping they might be available on short notice. They were very accommodating. They inspected and cleaned the chimney and fireplaces. They were very thorough. They covered everything around the hearths up so that not a bit of soot got anywhere on the hearths our surrounding floor. Then they walked us through where and how to control the draft, and even explained how to operate a funky 70's blower insert we have in the basement fireplace. They also let us know about some preventive work that needs to be done this summer on the grout above the roof line and gave us a reasonable quote for the work. We were extremely pleased with their professionalism and customer service. <br />"

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Spokane Valley, WA

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
