"I am very pleased with my new roof from Galloway Roofing. Tom is a great communicator and from the first call, he instilled confidence as he described their process and materials. Galloway's on-site foreman, Manuel, was a pleasure to work with. Manuel is very earnest and made me feel confident that his crew would do a quality job...and they did. Manuel also rolled up his sleeves and got on the roof to help remove a tricky skylight that was replaced. As Tom described up front, the crew cleaned up my deck and yard during the day and after each work day. The job took four days on a 2500 sq ft roof as predicted. I highly recommend Galloway Roofing."

"Excellent! Live in a home with a 3-layers of old shingles that needed to be removed after damage from a windstorm. Had several roofing companies evaluate and bid on the job. Inland Roofing was my first choice due to clear and consistent communications. John told me about the job required to remove the shingles, current code standards, and the process for re-sheeting the roof and replacing the shingles. The work was scheduled promptly, the job moved early into the work schedule and completed on time. The roof is gorgeous and I have nothing but praise for the work done by the Inland Roofing team. Will hire Inland Roofing for all of my future roofing needs."

"Having New Heights Roofing company install a new roof on my house has been a pleasing experience. My house and shop roofs were recently damaged due to the extremely large hailstones that we recently experienced. New Heights employees were very professional as well as punctual when tearing off and installing my new roof and new skylights. As this company has been around for approximately 17 years, I highly recommend this company to anyone needing roof work."

FAQs for metal roofing installation and replacement projects in Spokane Valley, WA

Copper roofs can last 100 years or more, so you’re likely never to need another replacement. Regular maintenance, including annual inspections and occasional cleaning, keeps them in top shape. Work with a licensed roofer for any repairs or inspections to be sure the roof stays watertight and performs as expected.

Cleaning a copper roof averages $460, sealing costs an average of $3 per square foot, and broader repairs cost an average of $6,500.While those figures may seem steep compared to simple maintenance, they’re still far less than the cost of a complete replacement. Staying on top of annual cleanings and quick fixes helps keep costs down and allows the roof to reach its 100-year lifespan.

That green hue is a natural patina that forms as copper reacts with air and moisture. In coastal areas, it can appear in five to seven years; in dry regions, it may take up to 14. The patina shields the copper, so letting it develop is perfectly fine. If you prefer the shiny look, you can have a pro apply a clear sealant and recoat it as needed.

You can paint a copper roof, but it will block the natural patina and may shorten the roof’s lifespan. Once paint goes on, future upkeep becomes more involved—you’ll need to scrape and repaint every few years. Most homeowners skip painting and opt for cleaning or a clear sealant to keep the copper looking its best.

Copper holds up well in nearly every climate. In a humid region, it naturally resists fungus, moss, and algae. In snowy or windy areas, it sheds precipitation and stays firmly in place, as long as it’s installed with room to expand and contract. That flexibility helps the roof stay leak-free through temperature swings and harsh weather year after year.
