"When my husband and I were ready to move forward with the remodel, we researched several contractor options. We were looking for someone who performed quality work, who was trustworthy and who we could forge a long-term relationship with, as we continue to tackle our project "wish list" over the coming years. I found Higgins Construction on Angie's List and was impressed by not only the company's work portfolio, but also the owner's (Mike) values. He came out to meet with us shortly after we initiated contact, and I knew it was a good fit immediately. The remodel took place over the course of approximately two months (side note: at the time, Mike was booking work about three to four months out). Mike's team gutted the bathroom (we kept the toilet since it was in good shape and then the bathtub got refinished versus replaced). Mike's team installed new floors, dry wall, shower tile, canned lights and some new piping that was needed. We also worked with Mike's cabinet guy to custom design a new vanity that worked better for the space. Throughout the process, Mike kept us updated on what was going to happen when, who would be in and out of the house, and where we were at with the budget (and we really needed to stick to ours). His team had access to the house via a lock box, and were respectful of both our home and three pets (we crated/confined them if Mike's team was here when we weren't). The only reason I gave Higgins Construction a "B" for punctuality is because on some occasions, we'd be given a window of days when someone would show up versus a particular day. It took me a little longer to adjust to this as I'm more of a planner than my husband, but by a few weeks in, I wasn't giving it another thought and just operated on the assumption that someone would be here. The end result was beautiful and for all of the reasons cited, we absolutely will be using Mike and his team for future work (next up is likely a garage overhaul, in the spring)!

"I couldnâ t be happier with the work that Pro Custom Builders did for me. I had a piece of facia come loose and needed to be replaced. Tony was able to determine the manufacturer of the original facia based on photos and some information I provided. The facia was 17 years old and I was thrilled that he would be able to match what I had on the rest of my house. When the day came to fix the issue, he walked me through his plan to safely access the area that needed to be replaced, which was on an awkward spot of my roofline between the house and attached garage. After the work was done, he explained what he did and even mentioned a few siding issues that he noticed. It was a pleasure working with him and I will definitely be calling him for any future projects."

"I am giving my rep, Raul, a 5 star rating. I am about to take the plunge and have my house re-sided for the first time ever! My home is 116 yrs old and has only been painted several times over the original wood. However, paint no longer will fix what is happening underneath, with dry rot, aging, etc., so my only option is to have it re-sided & almost start from scratch. I met with Raul, who is "awesome", to say the least. He is knowledgeable, explains everything to a "T" and is so down-to-earth. My old "farm" house is 2 stories, plus a walk-up attic, so this would have cost me a fortune as there is a lot of "territory" to be covered. "My house just needed a fresh coat of paint and was to be painted exactly as it was. That didn't happen! Unfortunately I found out after the fact, that Ryan had instructed his crew to paint my house the "same color, top to bottom" because he said that's how he remembered it. My family and I came home to find the entire house had been painted the same color as the siding. All of the trim with the exception of window and door trim had been painted over with the siding paint. I called Ryan and he came over the next day. I showed him pictures of how the trim had always been painted for the past 18 years. This is where the problem started. Ryan began to argue with me telling me that the pictures didn't show any trim paint - that it was just the way the light reflected that made the trim look lighter. He absolutely refused to acknowledge that he was wrong and actually insinuated that I was mistaken about how my house has been painted for all these years. At that point I lost all trust in Ryan and really felt as if I had been duped. He was relentless in his insistence that he was right. He was adamant that the trim had not previously been painted a light cream color even after seeing pictures to the contrary. It seemed as if he was trying to cover up his error by convincing me that I didn't know what I was talking about. Ryan eventually agreed to paint a portion of the trim but never admitted he was wrong about painting over it in the first place and never apologized. As for the painting in general it was adequate. But the back of the house needed to be scraped and painted a 2nd time as all the patching material they used showed through the paint and it was blotchy. This was done but only after I pointed it out and asked to have the problem corrected. Other minor issues were taken care of without incident. The crew was polite and respectful.

"I thought it went well. Their project manager Cristina was good to interact with and she was able to schedule in the jobs and got it done within three weeks since the contract and initial down payment was made. There was a minor issue and in that i felt the contractor could have been proactive in taking measures to color match the siding instead of relying on homeowner. After the job was done, the nails were not cleaned up completely around the house. I had a flat tire and I don't think the cause was completely based on them not completely cleaning. I would definitely hire them again.."
