"They gave a quote; ordered the door, and within 3 weeks had the job completed. The two technicians were very professional and made sure the door was sealed properly. They even sealed around some pipes with caulking which was "above and beyond the call of duty.""

"Very good. They were formerly known as Metro Restoration, and now they're Service Master Metro. I'd give them straight "A"'s across the board including their price. It was done very well. Very punctual. Very thorough. Excellent provider. Their employees were excellent. Very professional, very thorough, hard working. They were an excellent company to deal with."

"Our experience with this company was excellent. Andrew, the Director of Marketing, provided a thorough explanation and demonstration of the window and door we were considering. Our questions and concerns were properly addressed, and our decision to move ahead with this project was made with absolutely no pressure to purchase anything. The installation was completed smoothly and efficiently, and resulted in a perfect job. Anthony and his assistant Steve worked tirelessly; they were respectful of our property and thoroughly cleaned up when they were finished. Following completion of the job, Apex Energy Solutions visited our home to inspect the new windows and door and to inquire as to our level of satisfaction with the products and the installation. Throughout the entire process company representatives were easily accessible and responsive to our inquiries. We highly recommend Apex Energy Solutions to anyone considering replacement windows and doors. They provide superior products and employ individuals who place the needs of the customers above all else. <br />"

"I thought that they were very professional and quick to answer any questions. I had a lot of questions especially about the asbestos. They were good making me feel comfortable with the whole removal process because there were people living in the house at the time. The did all of the testing and paperwork. The basement looks great now. They gave a lot of good recommendations to help. They were very clean and left nothing behind, absolutely clean, which is impressive for such an old basement. It looks like a new construction basement! They made the house a livable and safe place. We did have a little issue come up but they were very quick to address it and correct the situation."

"Overall the project went well. We had one issue with the shower door, The sub for the glass door, Crescent Supply, were a problem, but Duke managed them as we expected. The problem did cause a delay in finishing the project. We would not allow Crescent Supply again. We are very pleased with the final product. Terry, Dukes project lead, is wonderful and did most of the work."

"They are a fire and restoration company. My insurance told me about them. So far they have been really good. I have been in touch with several of their reps and they brought samples to the house for us to look at. They have been really good. They were quick to respond with everything once we were cleared by the fire department and insurance investigators. In that regard they have been awesome. They have been delayed due to the weather so it is taking some time but those things happen so I can excuse that. The house is coming along great and it looks wonderful. There were some mis-steps along the way but everything has been made right so I can't complain at all. The price is moderate or good. We got several estimates and they came in at the middle of the spectrum."

FAQs for toxic lead testing projects in Springdale, PA

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a strong chance it contains lead-based paint. Many pre-1980 houses also contain lead in their plumbing and decorative materials, so age alone is a significant red flag. Older homes near industrial areas face an even higher risk. Because you can’t confirm lead by sight, scheduling a test is the safest way to protect your family.

In older houses, lead can lurk in painted trim, window sashes, soil around the foundation, plumbing pipes, and even vintage hardware. The metal is toxic, and children and pregnant women are most at risk. Exposure can trigger developmental delays, learning problems, and organ damage. Because the EPA links even low levels to serious health effects, test every suspected surface and address any hazards right away.

A positive test means lead is present somewhere you can touch, breathe, or disturb. The next step is a full risk assessment to map exactly where the hazard lies and outline the safest fix: encapsulation, enclosure, or full removal. Repairs start at $1,000 but can exceed $10,000 for complete elimination, so act quickly and hire certified pros to keep your family safe.

EPA lead certification proves that inspectors, risk assessors, and abatement contractors follow federal safety rules under the Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Program. The credential costs an average of $300, and certified professionals can legally test, contain, or remove lead hazards. Hiring a certified pro protects you from fines and ensures the work meets strict health standards.

Lead-based paint looks no different from any other paint, so you can’t identify it by color or sheen. Even flawless walls may hide it. If paint starts chipping, flaking, or peeling, schedule a professional test right away. Only laboratory-grade testing confirms lead and guides the safest fix for your home.
