Customers say: Quality work

"We used Premium Drainage & Erosion Solutions for a large backyard project, including the installation of french drains, new gutters and downspouts, regrading a big portion of the backyard to make it more usable, and the installation of a new paver patio. We are highly satisfied with the entire project - from initial estimate to final signoff, Adrian and his team were professional, prompt, and communicative. The team showed up on time, left our yard in great condition throughout the project, and were open to changes we thought of in between receipt of the estimate and kickoff of the work. Our backyard truly looks better than we expected going into the project - we are so happy that we decided to go with Adrian + Premium Drainage and Erosion Solutions. We will absolutely be using them for any future projects down the line and highly recommend their work to anyone in the area."

"Nick did a phenomenal job! He responded to my call & came to our house for a in person walk thru of the job. While on our property He noticed safety concerns with our septic drain field we were unaware of. His bid on the job was emailed in a timely manner & when the weather allowed He & his crew came out & knocked out the job, as well as, bringing our septic system to safety standards. I highly recommend him for your Excavation jobs. Truly Professional & Knowledgeable."

"If I could give zero stars I would! We had the most HORRIBLE experience with Christan/Nighthawk!!! We had a 3 phase home addition that was to be done in 6 months. It took 11 months and he only made it thru phase 2. He took our money then proceeded to only show up once a week for most of the project!! He left our roof off - exposing our home to extensive damage that he ignored - for 3 MONTHS!!!! He claimed we were a priority project to him and yet never showed up. And to add insult to injury the work he did was AWFUL! Framing was left exposed to the elements so long it grew mold (that we had to treat on our own dime) and the inside framing was so wrong that we had to rip it down and fix on our own. Beware of a sheep in wolfs clothing. Christian talks a good game and you'll believe he is a good guy/business man but he did us sooooo wrong!!! All I can say is do not make the same mistake we did - go with someone else!!!!"

"We hired this land clearing company to clean and prepare our property, and they exceeded expectations from start to finish. Very professional, on time, and clearly knowledgeable. The work was done efficiently, safely, and exactly as promised. The site was left clean and ready for the next phase of construction. I highly recommend them to anyone needing reliable land clearing services."

FAQs for excavation major grading or resloping projects in Stafford, VA

You can excavate in winter, but frozen soil slows down the process and increases labor costs. Many grading companies offer discounted rates during their off-season, so ask for a winter quote and weigh the savings against a longer timeline. A brief conversation with a local professional will help determine whether cold-weather excavation is suitable for your site.

Foundation digs can be completed in as little as three days or take up to three weeks. Soil density, access, weather, and hidden obstacles all play a role, so every timeline is a bit different. Have your contractor walk the site and flag any potential issues early—clear expectations help keep both the schedule and budget on track.

You must always call 811 before excavating. Dial 811 a few days in advance so that utility crews can mark underground lines and ensure the area is safe for digging. Hitting a buried cable or gas pipe can be both dangerous and expensive, and many municipalities will not issue permits unless the site is flagged correctly.

To remove soil during an excavation project, your crew will load the spoil into dump trucks with a backhoe or excavator, haul it to a disposal site, and return for the next load. Efficient hauling keeps the work zone clear and the project moving. Depending on the site and volume of osil, multiple trucks may rotate to maintain a steady flow.
