"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"Very well. The repairman checked the washer thoroughly, and determined that we didnt need to replace the motor at this time. We really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. Will definitely call them the next time we need any household appliance repairs."

"It only took days for the issue to come back. It did work more quickly in the store when they turned it on there. I just don't think they set me up for upcoming issues; they just temporarily fixed something and didn't prepare the computer to handle whatever it was that caused the slowness in the first place.
I have purchased two computers from Best Buy. I have a love/hate relationship with them because, at times, they are cold and don't seem to be "in the moment" when working with you as a customer. They have their earpiece going off, they are looking around while working with you, and they sometimes seem "programmed" to say certain things or sell certain products.
As for the Geek Squad, I had one come to my house, and they were great. But when I wait in line at the store and then wait in line again to pick the item up, I - again - feel like they have something more important to do rather than help a customer. Part of me thinks they are understaffed in those areas (computer sales and Geek Squad). Sometimes I think that it must be hard to find workers who are both computer-savvy and have a pleasant personality.
I have learned to do my homework before going there = doing the research on computers and even calling to see when their "slow times" are at the store. It's wonderfully located with great parking and decent layout.
"

"Our first encounter with Spectrum Energy was in March of this year. Ben serviced one of our two boilers, which we knew hadn't been done in several years. He replaced the oil filters on the tank and boiler and thoroughly cleaned the inside of the combustion chamber, which had been neglected by the previous owners/servicemen. He was kind enough to show me the before and after as I was curious about the condition of our boiler. What a difference!!! It was like night and day. He even took time to suggest different ways to improve efficiency on older boilers (e.g. heat manager, etc.). I am confident the service we received was far beyond what we could expect from the local oil company.

In August, we had Spectrum Energy come back to service our second boiler. Once again, our boiler was thoroughly cleaned! Also, the stove pipe leading from the boiler to the chimney had apparently rusted through and nobody had bothered to catch this in prior servicings. So, that was replaced. Also, since March, Ben purchased some high-end calibration equipment. In the end, he took our 78% efficient boiler up to 87%, which is great considering it's age. The efficiency sat in the 70's for quite a few years. I'm looking forward to seeing an improvement in our heating expenses this winter."

"Tim was on time, clear in what he discovered as the problem, clear about what it would cost and the amount of time it would take. He was courteous and efficient. He even took a peek at our dishwasher and gave us some free tips on how to keep that running well. Would definitely call him again for other appliances.
"

"This was the second time I had used Noble's Appliance Repair for my dryer. In both cases, Allen has been quick to return my call, friendly, and in both cases arrived in a timely fashion.
The first time--which was 2 or 3 years ago now--he completely dissassembled and essentially refurbished the drum section of my dryer, repaired a bad latch, and had the dryer running like new by the time he left. It's been running perfectly ever since. He was also able to provide discounted parts that he salvages from machines that were at the end of their practical lifespans.
This time around, the elbow that connects the dryer exhaust to the flexible hose (which connects to the outside vent) had clogged. The dryer had started to overheat, which caused the thermal fuse to do it's job by melting and cutting power to the dryer. Allen was able to diagnose this quickly, had the necessary part on board, and had me back up and running in about a hour's time after cleaning the elbow and installing a new fuse.
I can highly recommend Noble's Appliance Repair. Allen's service is professional, friendly, and he'll give you an honest assessment of the problem and repair costs. I will absolutely use him again in the future."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Starksboro, VT

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
