"In late April, we began calling painting contractors and setting up appointments for them to come by and provide estimates.  Some companies would not come out for such a small job.  However, we were able to obtain estimates from 2 companies.  We chose CRS Painting (run by Valerie and Gerardo Lopez) to do the job for several reasons:  responsiveness, punctuality (for the appointment), pricing, and the fact that they seemed genuinely interested in performing the work.  Gerardo worked with us on the pricing and selection of paint.  Both Gerardo and Valerie were involved in scheduling the job and, unlike many contractors, they were willing to do the work a Saturday.
Because this was such a small job, Gerardo did the work himself.  First, he put down paint drop cloths to protect the floors in the powder room and from the powder room to our front door.  He then removed the hardware (towel ring, toilet roll dispensor), mirror and pictures from the room.  Next, he spent a great deal of time preparing the wall and ceiling surfaces in the room before he applied even the first coat of paint.  Gerardo was very careful to ensure that the first coat of paint had sufficiently dried before applying the second coat.  Once the second coat was dry, he re-installed the bathroom hardware and placed the mirror back on the wall.  Then he cleaned up the entire work space and, before leaving, went over the entire job with us to make sure we were satisfied.  The room looks great! There are no drip marks or noticeable brush marks - it definitely looks like a professional did the work.
Overall, we feel confident that we made the right choice in selecting CRS Painting for this job.  We received quality work at a fair price.  CRS was easy to work with - they showed up when they said they would show up and the honored their commitment to the written estimate in every way.  We plan to use CRS Painting for a much larger job in August 2012.  We've already negotiated a price and have provided paint specifications to Gerardo.  Based on our experience to date, we would highly recommend CRS Painting to our family and friends."
