The company main contact scheduled an appointment to review and assess the lawn, and provided a quote for the services needed (trimming the Hedge bushes, laying down grass feed, and mulching the trees). The company informed me when they would be able to perform the services needed, and they showed up as agreed. The lawn was amazing!! My attendance was not required, since I had to be in the office. Once the services were completed, the company sent me photos of the completed work, and my yard looked like a complete new yard. "We contracted with Ms. Lily and the MA Landscaping team to redo our back patio on Capitol Hill in DC. The original patio had a dilapidated fence, an uneven brick floor, and overgrown shed. The moment that Ms. Lily stepped into the space, she had a vision for safeguarding the historic nature of the patio while integrating a modern look. She was receptive to our ideas and offered her own, which allowed us to come to a great combined vision. "I can't say enough how much I LOVE Jose, Kevin and the crew with JK Gardening! These guys go above and beyond. I love how Jose has eye for the littlest details and he always one step ahead of me with something that needs his attention on, he already thought it and has solution on how get it done. I originally hire Jose a while back where he did retainer wall and did beautiful job so I knew he was capable of doing great work with my next project. My front stairs were never right they little wonky. When I approach Jose and Kevin about new design idea from my front steps and walkway they were on it and together we came up with show stop walking way and stairs. It didn't stop there. My driveway was always a "hot mess" with sump pump kind in middle of driveway. Once again Jose, Kevin and I came with up an design idea for the driveway and they delivered. "The front yard of my townhouse was a mess. I had mostly weeds and dirt and a burning bush and tree that was out of control. Juilo and his crew came in and within two days, removed the burning bush, trimmed the remaining bushes, trimmed back the tree and installed a beautiful retaining wall, with river stone and perennials, and added new sod. My front lawn is now beautiful, thanks to ET. General Contractor, Inc. I highly recommend them for your landscaping project!"

Our backyard was useless with standing water and a mud pit under our deck, but Troy installed a french drain system and buried several downspouts to divert the water away from the middle of the yard and installed some river rock with a border under the deck to make it an attractive area versus an eye sore. Will definitely be hitting Troy back up for some more landscaping work in the spring."

"Yard By Yard Makeovers did a wonderful job. They arrived on time about 8am, did everything that we needed done, and were finished by 3pm. And this was no mean feat. The porcelaineberry's roots run deep since it's invasive. The mint was everywhere in one area, as was the pokeberry in another. And poison ivy is, well, poison ivy. They dug everything up and disposed of it. They pruned our crape myrtle and dug out the "weed tree." They transplanted two types of plants from one bed to another. They put down grass seed in two now empty areas. And they created two beautiful new plant beds, fertilized and mulched. They also helped me pick out which new perennials would be the most appropriate for planting, keeping in mind the sunlight that would be available and that we wanted to stick with natives or native hybrids. We are so excited about our new plant beds, as are our neighbors, who no longer have to look at two overgrown messes. We can't wait to watch over the coming years as the plants grow and flourish! We now have the best looking plant beds on the block."

"Kurt (Distinct Landscapes) performed an exception makeover to our property. We have owned our home for 20 years, with an eye on a landscape design to the house front - that pops. What we inherited were azaleas and christmas trees that continued to grow more expansive over the years. I provided Kurt with my budget and blessing to take the necessary design/purchase/installation steps necessary to dazzle. He did not disappoint! Kurt was a joy to work with, paying several visits to our property to discuss proposed layout and educate newcomers concerning the finer points of horticulture - in laymen's terms. He was extremely responsive to preferences and concerns and made several modifications of his own - before installation date. What a makeover - Korean Boxwoods, Dward Red Barberries, Goldmound Spireas, Nandina Domestica, Chery Laurels Knockout Roses, A Purple Crape Myrtle and Dragon Lady Holly species ... to name a few. Kurt did not overcrowd the design, but allowed sufficient spacing for future growth ... definitely planning for the longer range investment. With his selection, he also ensured more diverse colors over a greater portion of the calendar year. We're now the proud owners of a unique landscape that complements the house color/style much better. We absolutely recommend Kurt (without any reservations) to anyone seeking to upgrade their curb appeal with a landscape that truly impresses!"

"We contacted Northern Virginia Landscaping shortly after my family moved into our new home in Alexandria. We wanted to be able to use the outdoor space for our kids to run around, but there was a big problem, there was eroding retaining walls, re-bar sticking up from cinder blocks, old bricks, and the land sloped a significant amount to limit functionality of a play area. We did not know much about retaining walls or how we could possible build the space for what we would like to do, with also keeping in mind some possibilities for expansion in the future. After the initial estimate we were able to finally see how the project could be accomplished, what type of drainage the walls needed to have, how high the walls should be and how we could transform this treacherous landscape into an area where are family can play for the future.
