Get matched with top wood flooring installation pros in Sterling, VA

"My spec home came with carpeted basement stairs that I didn’t care for at the beginning and after nearly three years of wear the builder grade product was looking shabby. The first contractor I discussed changing the surface to hard wood said it could not be done; the second might be able to do the conversion but wasn’t interested in the job. I found H&H Hardwood through Angie’s List and was pleasantly surprised. Mr. Fier responded to my voice mail promptly and arrived at the appointed time to study the project. He was incredibly thorough and clearly discussed alternatives. He promised a detailed proposal in a few days and produced the most detailed project description I’ve encountered in the course of many remodeling projects. After reaching an agreement and establishing a schedule, Dan and his crew arrived promptly each day, tackled the carpet removal, tread modifications and structural improvements in an organized, professional manner. The existing shop built stairs were refaced with ½” red oak and the finished project exceeds expectations. It would be difficult to find evidence that these steps were not constructed with hard wood at the initial build. After a good discussion I decided to have the stairs finished with Rubio Monocoat versus the more traditional stain covered by multiple layers of polyurethane. The penetrating Monocoat offers easier touchups and a much shorter application/curing time versus urethane. Dan made every effort to match the engineered hardwood flooring covering my main floor and the stain match is excellent. In short I am very pleased to recommend H&H Hardwood of Front Royal, VA for your hardwood needs. In this era where customer service is so often a forgotten skill, it was wonderful to deal with a pleasant person who clearly knows his business, arrives on time, leaves the premises spotless after every workday and provides an excellent product."

"District Floor Depot offered a large variety of products at reasonable prices. We were very pleased with the repair work done to the existing subfloor, the sanding/staining of the stairs, and the installation of the new engineered hardwood floor. The process was explained in detail and the work was completed ahead of schedule. The installation crew was courteous and professional. All debris was removed, surfaces dusted, and thoroughly vacuumed at the end of the project. The customer support team was friendly, communicative, flexible, and responded quickly to all inquiries."

"We had a failed hardwood refinishing project on our hands when we called Prospect flooring. Mike was quick with the estimate, the price was competitive. Jodi called us every day to explain what will happen next day and was great to resolve few little things we encountered. We were so happy with the work performed, that we hired Prospect Flooring again for the second project at our house. Second project included installing engineered food in our basement and replace carpeted stairs with hardwood. Again, work was done with great quality. Prospect flooring worked around our schedule and completed work in 2 days."

"Brian from Torres flooring reached out to me immediately after I submitted my request, and quickly gave me a quote and did the repair that day! We had a small section of our vinyl floor cut out by our previous owners to install a wooden railing. We removed the railing and needed the flooring patched with some of the flooring we had stored away. I contacted so many floor companies who said the job was 'too risky' and declined the job, or told us we needed to replace the entire floor (for like $5k). Brian was super friendly and said he could do the job no problem, understood what we needed done, and did a great job! We were seriously getting desperate and didn't know if we were ever going to get our floor fixed. HUGE thank you to Brian for the expertly rescuing our floor!"

"We used Sam to fully remodel our master bathroom and do some cosmetic work in our guest bathroom. We took down walls and started completely from scratch. Sam did all of the demolition, prep work, plumbing, electrical and installed some very intricate marble mosaic tile, for us on the floor of the bathroom and in the shower. Sam is punctual, responsive and extremely knowledgable about his craft. His men do incredible work when it comes to the finishes and he keeps a very clean workspace. All along the process Sam was present at the job and addressed any minor issues we had along the way immediately. You will not find any better bang for your buck in this area. I highly recommend him and we just hired him again to do even more work in our home."

"Excellent experience with Jason and his crew, specially Puugee. They were very professional but n all aspects and quality of work, they replaced the hardwood in the whole main level with porcelain tiles and radiant heating system underneath. Jason also replaced all the balusters and refinished the stairs, excellent quality as well! Pricing is reasonable, l highly recommend them and they will be my first contact for any flooring project."

"We had existing flooring sanded and refinished. Unfinished wood was installed in two additional rooms. All flooring finished the same. Work was done in a timely fashion. Communication was great. Would recommend them in the future."

"I wish I could hire this company for all my needs. The Owner Aaron was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable from day one. He gave suggestions and recommendations to help complete the project. His crew came on time, and were very courteous of my home and furniture. Paying the bill was easy and we couldn’t be happier. My floor is simply beautiful. I have referred this company to our family and friends already. I am going to be using them to replace my carpet right after the holiday. I highly recommend using this company for all your flooring needs. You will not be disappointed."

"Two level deck needed minor surface rot repair, power washing, and staining. Flores Enterprises LLC quoted and completed the work in the same business week. Attention to detail on staining is excellent. Provided photos of repairs and completed work and kept me informed on any issues which arose. Would definitely hire again."

"Job was well done, efficient, and at a fair price. Through no fault of the contractor, we had a delay due to HOA approval. We also ended up changing some of the project, including a different roof material and a request to install railings. CRS proved extremely flexible through all the hiccups, and were really great to work with. Communication about status and timeline was good. They even went above and beyond my expectations in several instances like working extended hours to keep the project ontrack, repainting an entire interior wall, filling in a minor seam on a column, and repainting our railing that I hadnt expected. Highly recommend."
