Before we got moved in we had Billy and Howard come out to put in the kitchen sink in and to fix the leak in bathroom sink. When they arrived, they realized that I had ordered the wrong size kitchen sink. I cannot recommend this company enough. As a person who knows nothing about plumbing, I was really impressed by how well Billy, Chris, and Howard were able to explain what was happening, what my options were, what the risks were, and frankly that they were able to do all of that without a tinge of condescension. "McDonough's is my go-to for any drain problems!  The guys who came were very professional, helpful and all around great.  They worked a tough clog out of the drain line coming from the laundry room, then checked the main sewer line from the house and did some preventative clearing on some roots (the house has a history of roots clogging the main line and McDonough's has cleared it twice already, which the guys knew so they checked while they were already there and had the equipment ready).  The work was well done, they replaced some aging parts proactively, and they cleaned everything up like they had never been there.  Fantastic!

"Jon was responsive via email which I prefer. I know that many contractor types are not into email, but it is much easier for me than stepping out of a meeting and playing phone tag with someone. We were still trying to schedule something but he contacted me and asked if I was available for an opening they had that day (It was a holiday so I happened to have the day off). They arrived on schedule. They made a point to put on boot covers in my house. They looked at the work and gave me a quote quickly. One of the best things about this company is that they have a flat fee-based pricing system. They have different categories based on how complex the job is. My project was a "Level 2" so it was about $150 for each valve. This includes parts and labor. I have found over the years that businesses that charge for labor hours tend to land at very arbitrary fees. Projects can become very expensive very quickly. They finished the work but advised me that they discovered the main water shutoff valves were corroded and failing. He strongly advised me to replace those as without them I would have to rely on the city to turn off my water in the event of a water emergency or if I wanted to do work. This was at an additional cost but I decided to do it as I was aware of the problems this could cause. They were able to get the city out to turn off the water at the street shutoff and got the work done within an hour. They covered my floors with mats to protect them as they had to take frequent trips in and out of the house. All in all, I was very satisfied with the quality and professionalism of their work. I would definitely use them again in the future."
